Sherwin A. Brook CPA, CGMA, Member of the firm at BrookWeiner LLC, was selected as "Top CPA of the Year" for 2016-2017 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP).

While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. With over 49 years of professional experience serving his clients business and financial needs, Sherwin has certainly proved himself as an accomplished professional and expert in the financial industry.   First beginning his career as audit manager at Arthur Andersen and Company in 1967-1972, Sherwin quickly climbed the ranks accepting the position of Controller at Inland Robins Construction, to becoming Auditor Manager with Touche Ross.  Taking the culmination of all his experience, Sherwin A. Brook opened one of the most outstanding, prestigious firms in the greater Chicago area, BrookWeiner, LLC in November of 1977.

Sherwin has been recognized worldwide for his outstanding leadership and commitment to the profession and is also a sought-after speaker, sharing his knowledge and expertise with various networking groups in the greater Chicago area.  He was selected as Top Professional of the Year by the International Association of Who’s Who; selected as Pinnacle Professional of the Year by Continental Who’s Who; named “Top CPA of the Year” for 2016 by the International Association of Top Professionals, and has also been featured in ICE magazine.  Mr. Brook remains active in his community as a member of the American Institute of CPA’s, Illinois CPA Society, Mid-Size Practice Committee for the Illinois CPA Society, is on the peer review oversight committee for the Illinois CPA Society, and he is also the Director of the Anti-Defamation League, which is an organization dedicated to eliminating all forms of discrimination regardless of race, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation.

Sherwin graduated from Northern Illinois University earning his Bachelor of Science and Arts Degree in Accounting in 1967 and then attended Northwestern University-Kellogg School of Management for post graduate studies.
