KENAI, AK - 01/24/2017 (PRESS RELEASE JET)

Russell Fishing, www.russellfishingcompany.com, the fastest growing outfitter on the Kenai Peninsula, is proactvely addressing the shortage of Saltwater Sportfishing and Charter seats by building a new 33'x11' salwater machine.

The "Miss Patience" is being built to comfortably fish 6 guests, from any of our 3 lodges or the numerous other Kenai area lodges that use Russell as their fishing partner. Using state of the art electronics, safety equipment, and the highest quality fishing gear, the "Miss Pateince" will be the third Russell salt boat moored in Homer. North River is building our new beauty to our specs to include a boarding door, sufficient cabin space and seating, dry storage, large fish box, stand up head, aft seating and many other amenities.  She will be powered by twin 350 hp Mercury Outboards, designed to get our customers to the longest range fishing grounds in the shortest time  to meet our goal of maximum fishing time..

In 2017, Halibut fishing will be prohibited on all Wednesdays and several Tuesdays.  These new regulations will put pressure on many lodges for saltwater seats.  Russell's investment  will allow us to have plenty of space for our guests and clients.  In addition to fishing for Halibut, Russell will use our new,  larger , faster and more stable vessel to schedule saltwater salmon charters (especially for kIngs) which have favorable regulations for retention and longer seasons.  Moreover, we will make Long Range Charters available for Ling Cod, Yelloweye and other Rockfish.  Finally, for the second year, we are offering our guests a spectacular cruise to Chinitna Bay in the Lake Clark National Park,  On the way, guests will likely see whales, dolphins, seals, sea lions, otters, sea birds and eagles.  They will pass some beautiful glaciers to the south and view the breathtaking volcanos to the west.  Upon arrival, guests will disembark to the beach and make a short walk to where several grizzlies can be viewed, up close, in their natural environment. Upon return to the boat, they will enjoy a fresh fish lunch prepared by the crew.

Russell Fishing is proud of our success and reputation and this announcement embodies our goal of being the best outfitter on the Kenai Peninsula.
