SAN FRANCISCO, CA - 06/21/2016 (PRESS RELEASE JET)

Young, gritty and fiery, Bay Area reggae-rock band, Ridgway, is happy to announce the release of their debut, full length album entitled “Brighter Day.” Fans can hear the popular single, Fire Inside, at www.Ridgwayband.com or view the Fire Inside video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvjyQQ8OeJc

Staying with the very optimistic vibe the band emits, many of the tracks on the new album have an upbeat tempo and inspirational lyrics. “Our single, Fire Inside, is all about perseverance and pushing through, even through the real tough times,” says Forrest Bousquette, lyricist and lead singer. “The message is to never give up what you’re passionate about. It’s actually a very personal song to me.” All of the songs on Brighter Days are a personal journey and Bousquette hopes listeners enjoy the ride. Amidst the fun dance type songs, the overall theme in the band’s songwriting is self-discovery and determination. “You’ll hear about my hopes and belief in the band, personal relationships, and tales of persevering through setbacks.”

Ridgway hails from infamous Marin County, California, where there is a long running tradition of over 50 years of great music. What started out as a middle school friendship has morphed into a rock band. Just three years ago, while still in high school, Ridgway band members began with the idea of forming a simple reggae group but, given their different backgrounds and musical influences, they incorporated many genres of music: rock, reggae, hip-hop, tasteful metal and pop. They take great pride in writing and performing original songs but also cover tunes by Sublime, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rebelution and 311 at their live shows. They are a favorite at festivals and fairs including the Marin County Fair, the Bioneer’s Conference and the Gilroy Garlic Festival. They frequently play at 925 Gilman in Berkeley, California, a club made famous by Green Day.

Band members include: Forrest Bousquette, vocals; Jack Buzian, guitar, Jordan Kulp, guitar; Eric Trignani, bass and Danny Hagan (formerly Keelan Scarth) on drums.

“I think a strong part of recording this album was not only our shared love of making music, but also our shared passion in working together as childhood friends,” says lead guitarist, Jack Buzian. “We hope that the uplifting vibe will take away some of the stress many folks are feeling while facing the challenges of our times. We can’t solve all the problems of the world but we bet we can change your mood for the better.”

Celebrate Ridgway’s CD release show at Hopmonk Tavern in Novato, California on Saturday, July 2nd. Check out the events page on their website and Facebook page for upcoming shows and their northwest tour in late July.
