NEW YORK, NY - 03/27/2017 (PRESS RELEASE JET)

Jewelry designer Paolo Costagli will debut his inaugural sterling silver collection, Lucente, exclusively at The Store at the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) launching March 27, 2017.

Costagli’s involvement with the Museum of Arts and Design dates back to 2008 when the Museum acquired a bracelet from his iconic Brillante collection currently on display in the jewelry gallery.

This year, Paolo Costagli is sponsoring LOOT: MAD About Jewelry, the Museum of Arts and Design’s annual exhibition and sale featuring designs from more than 50 emerging and acclaimed international jewelry artists. Costagli will present his full collection of 18kt gold and gemstone designs and attend key LOOT events including the Benefit Dinner on April 3rd where he will present honoree Camilla Dietz Bergeron with the LOOT award. Costagli will also attend the exhibition to meet presenting jewelry designers from around the world and jewelry collectors. Concurrently, Lucente will launch exclusively at The Store at MAD during LOOT and will remain available for sale following the close of the exhibition.

Franci Sagar, Vice President of Retail and Brand Development for MAD, states, “It is an honor to introduce Paolo’s work as part of our fine jewelry presentation at The Store at MAD. His jewelry is the quintessential reflection of the ethos of the Museum of Arts and Design’s mission to present work at the intersection of arts, craft and design.”

Lucente is a spinoff of Costagli’s acclaimed Brillante collection, winner of the Couture Design Award for the Gold Category in 2013. Lucente is comprised of 22 designs priced between $315 and $1,880 and includes bracelets, necklaces, earrings and rings in sterling silver with diamonds. Two distinct styles from the existing 18kt gold Brillante collection will be recreated in silver and offered as part of the Lucente capsule collection: his signature Brillante earrings and the Brillante bracelet that is on display at MAD.

Lucente is a new direction for the Paolo Costagli brand, usually seen in the fine jewelry departments of Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Betteridge Jewelers and other high end retail outlets. When asked about trading 18kt gold for sterling silver, designer and founder Paolo Costagli stated, “I had the idea to create something that shows Brillante in a new light. Lucente, the Italian word for shiny, allows us to reach new audiences and brand enthusiasts at The Museum of Arts and Design, and will eventually be available online.”
