Locally Filmed Indy Movie 'Misfortune' Premiere Screening in Tucson, AZ - August 26 to September 2, 2016

  TUCSON, AZ - 08/24/2016 (PRESS RELEASE JET)

Gunnison Galaxy Films is pleased to announce that our award-winning independent film, 'Misfortune,' filmed entirely on location in Tucson and surrounding area, will have its first commercial premiere in Tucson.  The Harkins 18 at the Tucson Spectrum, 5455 S. Calle Santa Cruz, will show 'Misfortune' at 10:40am, 12:55pm, 3:10pm, 5:25pm, 7:50pm and 10:00pm daily from Friday, August 26th through Friday, September 2nd.  

The film is directed by Desmond Devenish, who is also the lead actor.  Arizona's stunning landscape and vibrant culture is beautifully represented in 'Misfortune,' which utilized a film crew comprised heavily of local film students.  'Misfortune' was also recently featured at the Arizona Film Festival.

FILM SYNOPSIS:

After being released from prison, Mallick hunts down his ex-partner’s son, Boyd, an out of work mechanic, whom he believes could lead the way to the missing stolen diamonds which landed him in lockup years earlier. 

With the threat of death and a chance at a potential small fortune, Boyd, his diner-shift gal Sloan and best friend Russell, a small time crook, set out on a rugged search through the treacherous desert. As events spiral out of control, the prospects of a criminal fugitive lifestyle become an inevitable reality.
