Disney Villains are taking over! Broadway stars produce music video cover of Lorde’s “Royals”

Creator Bret Shuford (Paramour, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast), in partnership with PURE MOTION PICTURES, announces the launch of their new music video: Disney Royals. Disney Royals is a joint effort from independent film and commercial production company Pure Motion Pictures and an all-star Broadway cast.
“I’ve always been a huge Disney fan and well, given our current political climate, the concept of ‘the villains taking over’ really struck a chord with me,” said Bret Shuford, the creator behind Disney Royals.
Broadway, Disney and Lorde fans alike rejoice to see their favorite elements come together on screen. Directed by Drue Pennella and lensed by Edwin Adlam Herod, the music video takes the audience members on a filmic journey through a sharper, hip, alt-Disney universe, where “the royals” have less graceful, more human personal lives—and they know how to party. But when the villains get left off the invite list, they’ll take matters into their own hands. Cinderella’s Ball is going to get a little funky.
With stunning choreography by Bruce Weber, spectacular Costume Design by Kurt Alger and appropriately over-the-top hair and make-up by Emilia Martin, the video is—in perfect Broadway fashion—a spectacle to watch.
“Assembling the cast was a bit of a challenge at first,” said Mr. Shuford, “but everyone ended up sharing in the vision and jumped in head first.”
Disney Royals stars Orfeh (Legally Blonde) as Maleficent, Andrew Chappelle (Hamilton) as Jafar, Julie Foldesi (Sunday in the Park with George) as Lady Tremaine, as well as many other talented Broadway performers from Hello Dolly, Wicked, Phantom of the Opera and more!
