Beth Gardner, President, Founder and CEO of Custom Travel Solutions Inc was selected as "Top Female Entrepreneur of the Year" for 2016-2017 for her outstanding leadership in the Travel Industry by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP). 

While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, longevity in the field, other affiliations and contributions to their communities.  All honorees are invited to attend the IAOTP’s annual award gala at the end of this year for a night to honor their achievements.

With over 21 years of professional experience as an entrepreneur, Beth has certainly proved herself as an accomplished professional and expert in the Travel Industry. As a talented, dynamic, results-driven leader, she has demonstrated success starting with 1 client and 1 million dollars to turning her company into a 100 million-dollar company. She has also provided visionary leadership in the highly competitive Travel and Logistic industries.

Founded in 1995, Custom Travel Solutions is a privately run Calgary-based Travel Management Company, solely owned by Beth. 80+ staff across Canada in "virtual" offices and an independent agency network, the company has successfully secured Corporate, Leisure and Group contracts for some of Canada's most successful organizations.

An entrepreneurial and creative solution provider, the Company's success has been establishing themselves as true industry partners, ensuring the "best-in-class" capability of all clients who have corporate travel needs. Most recently, Custom Travel Solutions has launched I-Logistics, the remote camp logistics services that is completely automated, providing a single source for remote bookings, including commercial and charter flights, helicopter, bus, and camp accommodation. They are currently the only company in North America that is able to provide this automated, end-to-end solution.
 

Beth became involved in her profession while working as a temporary contract person many years ago. Ms. Gardner ended up at an oil and gas company because the lady in charge of their travel department was out on sick leave for three months. They liked how she handled things, so they brought her on full time. Ms. Gardner was one of the first travel agents in Canada that had direct access to the airlines' travel system.

Beth remains active in her community and has been recognized worldwide for her outstanding leadership and commitment to the profession. In 2016 she was named “Top Entrepreneur of the Year” with the International Association of Top Professionals and inducted into Worldwide Branding.  In 2015 she was selected as Outstanding Member of the Year with Bristol Who’s Who, named Calgary’s Top 20 Business Leaders of 2015 by Calgary Magazine, and named one of the Top 100 Female Entrepreneurs in Canada by Chatelaine Magazine and Profit Magazine.  Beth is an active member of ATA and IATA. She is involved with various volunteer and charity programs such as Dreams Take Flight where she charters a 737 plane each year and takes special needs children to Disney World.  She also donates to the Humane Society where she raises funds annually for 2 pet rescue organizations in Calgary and she also donates to the Alberta Children’s Hospital.

Looking back, Beth attributes her success to always striving for excellence, always being kind and respectful toward others, having the utmost integrity, staying passionate in all her endeavors, and to her amazing staff.  When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her three children and three dogs.  For the future, she will continue to grow as an entrepreneur, continue to grow her business and hopes to continue to make a difference in people’s lives.
