The Government of Kenya and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the Kenya National Health Management Information System Program ( known as AfyaInfo Project), will equip health facilities at all levels in 12 counties in Kenya with Userful’s simple and flexible desktop virtualization solution. Userful has selected HP as the best technology enabler.
The AfyaInfo project is using a change-management approach to support the Government of Kenya’s efforts to design a system built on end-user needs and in order to position it as the sole source of health data for all stakeholders.
The result at the end of the five-year project will be a Ministry of Health that is empowered to effectively manage a transformed, unified and integrated health system that produces quality data and information products. The project aims to exceed public and private end-user needs for overall improved decision-making in the health sector.
Userful Multiplatform desktop virtualization replaces physical PCs with HP’s high-performance thin client devices, significantly reducing hardware, software and electricity requirements compared to the traditional one PC per seat solution. The solution is extremely simple to deploy and manage, eliminating the need for expensive IT support teams.
Userful enables the Government of Kenya to save valuable resources and greatly reduce infrastructure costs with this low-impact, highly-sustainable computing solution. Health clinics on the national, sub-national and community levels will all be able to implement the solution with ease and better serve the citizens of Kenya.
