ST. LOUIS, MO - 12/31/2015 (PRESS RELEASE JET) -- "The historic 2015 flooding of residences, workplaces, and commercial buildings along rivers in Illinois and Missouri will result in massive toxic mold infestation of the structures unless property owners, managers, and tenants take immediate 'do it yourself' or professional steps to prevent or minimize mold," warns Phillip Fry, Professional Industrial Hygienist, Certified Environmental Hygienist, and webmaster since 1999 of the mold authority website www.moldinspector.com.
"Once the water has receded, the first step is to blast high output ozone gas throughout the flooded residence or building for at least eight hours in each area of the building, including each living area, basement, crawl space, attic, garage, and inside heating/cooling air ducts," suggests Fry.
Learn about the power of ozone gas treatment to prevent and to kill mold and how to buy affordable ozone units at www.ozonegeneratorkillsmold.com. Read the ten steps for safe and effective mold killing and removal at www.upkeepmasters.com.
The second step is to spray an EPA-registered fungicide that contains the strong mold killer ammonium chloride on all ceilings, walls, floors, and possessions. To purchase EPA-registered fungicides, email Mr. Fry phil@moldinspector.com or phone toll-free 866-300-1616 or cell 480-310-7970.
The third step is to cut out, remove, and discard all water-impacted drywall and other water-damaged building materials such as carpeting and padding.
The fourth step is to repeat the ozone gas treatment and fungicidal spraying.
The fifth step is to remove any visible mold-growth on exposed timbers with a powder grinder with wire brush attachment or a power sander, along with a hand-held wire brush and sander.
The sixth step is to encapsulate all mold-cleaned timbers and all replacement building materials by painting all surfaces and edges with white latex enamel paint that contains one half pound per gallon of paint of the EPA-registered mold preventative Tim-Bor, available at www.timborprofessional.com or by phoning Mr. Fry.
