Don't Let People Kiss Your Baby! ; The CBCD Explains the Dangers of Kissing and Oral Herpes

Infancy places babies in unique danger from HSV-1, which may overwhelm a newborn’s still-growing immune system. (1)

10/23/2015 (PRESS RELEASE JET) -- “Infected with the herpes virus (HSV-1, or HSV-2)? The CBCD recommends taking Gene-Eden-VIR or Novirin.” - Greg Bennett, CBCD

Babies are susceptible to infection with the herpes virus (HSV-1) when infected adults kiss them. A mother explained what happened when her baby was infected due to kisses from “a loving visitor” in an article published on MedicalDaily.com. “Before three months old, a baby cannot fight the herpes virus. If a baby contracts this it can cause liver and brain damage, and can lead to death … if my friend had not told me about this my baby girl could have been very seriously ill … we have now been in the hospital for three days on an (antiviral, I.V.) drip with another two days to go.” (1) The mother of this baby posted photos to Facebook, which showed her daughter with large cold sores, the tell-tale signs of an oral herpes infection. The mother continued, writing on Facebook that “The moral of the story is DO NOT let anyone kiss your newborn's mouth, even if they don't look like they have a cold sore - 85% of the population carry the virus.” (1)

This mother is correct, since a study published in the medical journal JAMA notes that “the prevalence of HSV-1 in several countries, particularly in the developing world, can be as high or higher than 85 percent of the population .” (1) The Center for the Biology of Chronic Disease (CBCD) recommends that individuals infected with the herpes simplex virus take Gene-Eden-VIR or Novirin. The formula of these natural antiviral products was shown to reduce herpes symptoms in two seperate post-marketing clinical studies that followed FDA guidelines. Additionally, it was designed to help the immune system target the latent form of the herpes virus.

The formula of Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR was tested by Hanan Polansky and Edan Itzkovitz from the CBCD. The studies showed that the Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin formula is effective against the family of herpes viruses, including HSV-1 and HSV-2. The clinical studies were published in the peer reviewed, medical journal Pharmacology & Pharmacy, the first, in a special edition on Advances in Antiviral Drugs. Study authors wrote that, “individuals infected with (HSV-1 or HSV-2)…reported a safe decrease in their symptoms following treatment with Gene-Eden-VIR.” (2) The study authors also wrote that, “we observed a statistically significant decrease in the severity, duration, and frequency of symptoms.” (2)

Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin are natural antiviral dietary supplements. Their formula contains five natural ingredients: Selenium, Camellia Sinensis Extract, Quercetin, Cinnamomum Extract, and Licorice Extract. The first ingredient is a trace element, and the other four are plant extracts. Each ingredient and its dose was chosen through a scientific approach. Scientists at polyDNA, the company that invented and patented the formula, scanned thousands of scientific and medical papers published in various medical and scientific journals, and identified the safest and most effective natural ingredients against latent viruses. To date, Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin are the only natural antiviral products on the market with published clinical studies that support their claims.

Note: Novirin has the same formula as Gene-Eden-VIR. However, it contains higher quality and more expensive ingredients.

The medical evidence shows that the oral herpes virus (usually HSV-1) can easily be transmitted through kissing. (3) It should be noted that HSV-2, which normally causes genital herpes can also infect the mouth, and can be spread through the saliva. “HSV-2 is most often passed by vaginal sex and anal sex. But just as HSV-1 can infect the genitals and cause genital herpes, HSV-2 can pass from one person's genitals to another person's mouth, resulting in oral herpes.” (3)

What treatments are available for herpes infections?

“Two types of antiviral treatments against HSV are available: topical and oral. The treatments include penciclovir, acyclovir, famciclovir, and valaciclovir. However, their effectiveness is limited. For instance, a meta-analysis of five placebo-controlled and two dose comparison studies evaluated the effect of aciclovir, famciclovir or valaciclovir on symptoms. The meta-analysis showed that oral antiviral therapy decreases the duration and the associated pain of an outbreak by merely one day.” (2). There are also the natural supplements Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR, which have a formula that was designed to help the immune system target the herpes virus when it is in a latent form.

The CBCD reminds the public that Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin are not a cure. However, two clinical studies, published in peer reviewed medical journals showed that their formula decreases symptoms in infected individuals. Specifically, the formula of Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin was shown to safely and effectively reduce herpes symptoms. Additionally, it was designed to help the immune system target the latent virus.

“We recommend that individuals concerned about transmitting herpes through kissing, take Novirin or Gene-Eden-VIR against the latent virus.” – Greg Bennett, CBCD
