After cooking, cleaning up, and dealing with family on Thanksgiving Day, followed by midnight shopping excursions, long lines at the WalMart Black Friday sales, and parking spot envy, the absolute best way to end Black Friday Shopping is with a special Black Friday Cocktail at The Bar at Flagstones at the Renaissance Charlotte SouthPark Hotel, a luxury hotel in Charlotte, NC.
Four Black Friday drink specials will be available all day for $8 each at the Bar at Flagstones — or we invite you to take inspiration from our bartender and recreate one at home for yourself!
MALL-ED SPICED CIDER
Ingredients:
3 cups Spiced Apple Cider (see recipe) 1 cup POM (Pomegranate Juice)
2 - 3 Cinnamon Sticks
1 cup Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum Cinnamon Sugar
Pomegranate Seeds
Method:
Place Spiced Apple Cider, Pomegranate Juice and 2 Cinnamon Sticks in a sauce pan and simmer for 20 minutes. Strain, add Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum and hold warm. Rim Irish Coffee glass with Cinnamon Sugar and pour warm cider into glass. Garnish with Pomegranate Seeds.
Spiced Apple Cider Ingredients:
2 Quarts Apple Cider, fresh 1 Tbsp Orange Zest
1/2 Orange
3 ea Cinnamon Sticks
3 ea Cloves
Method:
Place all ingredients in a sauce pan. Simmer for 20 minutes and strain. Refrigerate.
DRUNKEN CRANBERRIES
Ingredients:
1 cup Sugar
3 ea 3" x 1" wide Orange Zest 2 ea Cinnamon Sticks
2 ea Cloves
1 1/2 cups Water
2 cups Cranberries, fresh
1/2 cup White Rum
Method:
Place Sugar, Orange Zest, Cinnamon Sticks, Cloves and Water in a sauce pan and simmer for 20 minutes. Add Cranberries and simmer 2 minutes. Remove from heat and place in plastic container, add rum. Cover and refrigerate. Drunken Cranberries will hold refrigerated for 5 days.
POM POM PEAR MARTINI
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz Pearl Pomegranate Vodka 1 oz Pear Syrup (see recipe)
2 oz POM (Pomegranate Juice)
1/2 oz Lemon Juice, fresh
1 ea Pear Slice
Method:
Fill Martini glass with ice and set aside. Measure Pearl Pomegranate Vodka, Pear Syrup, Pomegranate Juice and Fresh Lemon Juice into a mixing glass, fill with ice, top with Boston Shaker. Shake vigorously 20 to 30 times. Dump ice from Martini glass. Strain drink into Martini glass using a Hawthorne strainer. Garnish with Pear Slice.
Pear Syrup
Ingredients:
1 ea Bosc Pear, diced
1 cup Sugar
1 1/2 Cups Water
Method:
Place all ingredients in sauce pan and simmer for 20 minutes. Strain. Place in airtight container and refrigerate. Syrup will hold refrigerated for 5 days.
CARAMEL APPLE
Ingredients:
1/2 oz DeKuyper Buttershots Butterscotch Schnapps
1 1/2 oz Laird's Apple Jack
1/2 oz Simple Syrup
1/4 oz Lemon Juice, fresh
2 oz Apple Cider, fresh Cinnamon Sugar
1 ea Red Apple Slice
Method:
Fill Martini glass with ice and set aside. Measure DeKuyper Buttershots, Laird's Apple Jack, Simple Syrup, Fresh Lemon Juice and Apple Cider into a mixing glass, fill with ice, top with Boston Shaker. Shake vigorously 20 to 30 times. Dump ice from Martini glass and rim with Cinnamon Sugar. Strain into Martini glass using a Hawthorne strainer. Garnish with Apple Slice.
