72% of UK shoppers still aren’t ready for Christmas

LONDONG, UK - 12/3/2015 (PRESS RELEASE JET) -- New research undertaken by online voucher website MissVoucher.com has revealed that a staggering 72% of British shoppers still aren’t ready for Christmas. 



With Christmas less than a month away it would appear that the majority of people are still unprepared for this coming holiday, despite Christmas deals, decorations and adverts being pushed at consumers for a number of weeks. 



This latest research into Christmas preparations, undertaken by online voucher website MissVoucher.com , has sought to uncover the Christmas shopping habits of UK consumers to find out when they start their Christmas shopping. Surveying 532 UK adults, respondents were asked if they were ready for Christmas and only 28% of respondents indicated that they were. 



The full survey results were:



28% - Have bought all their Christmas presents


18% - Need one or two more 


57% - Have not started to buy for Christmas yet


4% - Will buy shopping vouchers for all people



Shockingly 57% of those who responded had not even started their shopping, which means despite 4% admitting that they intended on only buying shopping vouchers this year, and awful lot of adults still haven’t started. 



Commenting on this research, Head of Research, Richard Holt said, “We were a little surprised to see so many people haven’t started Christmas shopping, with less than a month to go until the big day. When you consider that there have been Christmas promotions and sales in shops and online for a number of months, the results are even more surprising. You have to wonder if this lengthening of the Christmas period, rather than exciting people for Christmas, is deterring shoppers and affecting their shopping habits. 



He continued “I have to admit even I have become a little sick of Christmas, I think it was mid-June I saw my first X number of days to Christmas count down appear on my Facebook page and it did make me roll my eyes.”
