WASHINGONT DC - 08/24/2017 (PRESS RELEASE JET)

Yashika Archer an up and coming tennis player from Fort Washington, Maryland, a suburb located in Prince Georges County Maryland. She is eager to play in her first big match in her quest to become the next Venus or Serena Williams. "Tennis has always been an immense passion for me and I love playing the game day in and day out. After playing as a child and preparatory school I decided that I would make a best effort to become a professional and marketing myself as the next big female tennis player from the Washington, D.C. area. It is so important in todays world that we recongize diversity in sports, our community, and expand on these principles.

The young female tennis star was recognized years ago when she started building her social media profiles up and a Tumblr blog which was deleted by accident. She has been promoting and working hard on her back hand which was her biggest deficiency and was able to beat out opponent Maria Davis in a regional tennis tournament for her 5th big tournament victory.

This year the Fort Washington Invitational tournament starts on Tuesday August 29, 2017 at 8:30 AM and goes till 10:00 PM. Refreshments and drinks will be served during the afternoon intermission and all games are played on hard courts. Yashika Archer wants as many of her fellow fans and supporters to come out and root for her as she strives to be the next big Fort Washington tennis star.

About Fort Washington Maryland

In1809 it was the only defensive fort protecting our Nations Capital. The fort is a stone structure and offered a good field of range for cannon fire at enemy advances on the Potomac River During the War of 1812, the fort was quickly abandoned during a British advance. In 1844, a cannon exploded on the USS Princeton as it was passing Fort Washington.  During WWII, the United States Army's Generals School was located at the fort, and had billeting for 362 officers and 2,526 enlisted persons.

The site is now part of a very extensive park with views of the Potomac River and hiking paths. It is a scenic place for picnicking, fishing and outdoor recreation. (Admission is free to people entering after business hours and before sunset.)
