7th Location Extends Company’s Commitment to Serve Metro Area Women with Peace of Mind in Breast Health

FAIRFAX, VA - 10/06/2017 (PRESS RELEASE JET)

Washington Radiology has opened a new screening mammography center in the Ballston neighborhood of Arlington, Virginia. This is the seventh screening center for Washington Radiology which provides full-service medical screening at locations in Washington D.C., Montgomery County, and Northern Virginia. The new Ballston center is located at 1005 North Glebe Road, Suite 110, in Arlington, Virginia. The center offers traditional 2-D and 3-D mammography and bone density studies. The center’s hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Washington Radiology is committed to providing women with an exceptional mammography experience, supported by dedicated team members who are sub-specialists in the area of breast screening. Their patient-centric approach considers all aspects of the patient’s visit seeking to make the experience such an easy one that women won’t avoid getting the annual mammogram they need. Conveniences include online appointment requests, convenient parking, and free Wi-Fi.  Understanding that environment is often a big part of the experience, the new Ballston center offers a warm and welcoming space with a distinctly non-clinical feel through warm colors, soft music, and a peaceful home-like environment.

Continuing Washington Radiology’s longstanding commitment to outstanding clinical quality, all mammograms are read by board-certified, sub-specialized breast screening physicians. All team members are highly trained in compression and placement, understanding how much is enough to get the best images but not too much as to cause unnecessary discomfort. Patients are asked to rate their experience (and particularly their comfort level during the exam) on iPad tablet surveys offered onsite.  In this way, the commitment to comfort and experience is measured every day at every center.

Washington Radiology’s peace of mind promise is focused around three core tenets:

  • Accuracy: utilizing state-of-the-art 3-D technology combined with specialists in breast screening to deliver patients peace of mind and confidence in their results.
  • Compassion: understanding that a mammogram is a highly personal exam, the Washington Radiology team takes extra care to make patients comfortable and relaxed within a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Convenience:  taking as much stress out of the process as possible by offering easy center access, multiple locations to choose from, online appointment requests, and convenient parking with nearby Metro service for most locations.

Washington Radiology is committed to early detection, and their physicians support physician-led organizations like the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American College of Radiology in recommending that women age 40 and older have a mammogram every year and should continue to do so for as long as they are in good health. Washington Radiology encourages women to talk to their doctor, and based on their unique health history; make the choice that’s right for them. When they are ready, Washington Radiology is there to offer an exceptional experience, eliminating stress and anxiety in every way possible.

“We answered the call — patients and referring physicians asked us to expand our footprint in Northern Virginia. We did just that, offering not only our highly-trained radiologists and technologists, but a beautiful new center that is warm, welcoming, and committed to providing the Arlington/Ballston community with Peace of Mind in breast screening,” said Andrea Donnor, vice president of operations at Washington Radiology.
