After a distinguished 20-year career, just short of 200 wins, Pearland High School Head Football Coach Tony Heath joins Hellas Construction as a business development manager, to build and grow future relationships with schools and organizations in the Greater Houston Area’s sports construction market.

“Heath brings a reputation for excellence to Hellas,” said Hellas President Reed J. Seaton. “We are proud to welcome him to our team and I believe he will be a great asset in the Houston area as the number of projects and partnerships in Houston evolve,” Seaton said.

Heath was approached with the idea back in May, meeting with Seaton and Hellas staff members about the opportunity to collaborate.

Hellas Construction is the leader in the sports construction industry, based in Austin, TX, with offices nationwide. They are known as a one-stop shop for sports construction, meaning they can design and build a project from start to finish, whether it’s a new synthetic turf field, running tracks, tennis courts, or entire sports complex, Hellas has the products, knowledge, and resources, along with their own equipment to do it all.

“It was an opportunity to make a change for my family, while still being involved in athletics in the Houston area,” Heath said. “It was like a perfect storm. It never hits when you expect it to, but for us, it was the right time.”

Hellas is most widely known for its Matrix® Turf. The synthetic turf is manufactured using C8 resin fibers from DOW Chemical Company®, which are considered to be the most resilient, stable, and durable fibers on the market. After over 15 years on the market, every installation of Matrix Turf has been proven without failure. All Hellas products and surfaces are known for their quality, performance, and longevity.

“Everybody in Texas has heard of Hellas Construction,” Heath said. “Everybody knows they did the Dallas Cowboy’s turf.” He said, “Hellas is well-known and I wanted to get in with someone with a great reputation.”

Heath is originally from Lubbock, Texas, attending West A&M University and migrating in 1986. He started coaching at University of Texas at Arlington as a graduate assistant, moving on to Santa Fe High School for three years as an assistant coach, and La Marque High School for eight years as an assistant coach where he won four state championships before becoming the head coach at Pearland in 1997.

“I won a State Championship on a Hellas field in 2010, at Cowboys Stadium and went back again for another try in 2013,” Heath said. “I have been in the Houston area for over 30 years and built a lot of strong relationships,” Heath said. “I look forward to working with the people I know. I am excited to be a part of the Hellas Team,” Heath said. “It should be a fun adventure.”
