Sonitrol-Kimberlite's Verified Alarms Assist Police in Most Apprehensions in 2016

The central alarm monitoring station for Kimberlite Corporation, Sonitrol’s largest independent dealer, assisted law enforcement throughout California in 1,464 apprehensions in 2016 – the most ever lawful apprehensions assisted by a North American central station in a single year. Last month, to combat overcrowded state prisons, the California Department of Corrections announced new controversial regulations under Proposition 57 that are estimated to result in the early release of nearly 10,000 inmates. The new guidelines qualify convicted criminals for early parole who have committed non-violent offenses, such as property offenses like burglary, larceny and trespassing.

Since 2000, Kimberlite has assisted in 11,294 apprehensions of suspected criminals. Kimberlite’s 1,464 apprehension assists in 2016 – or roughly four per day – set the central station apprehension record for the third consecutive year, after the company’s verified alarm technology aided police to 1,254 apprehensions in 2015, and 1,035 apprehensions in 2014.
