The auction will feature nearly 200 Lots of Fine & Rare Books and Early Soviet Paintings from a large private collection being sold without reserve until July 15, 2016 10AM EST.

Amongst the artwork in the sale will be featured almost 100 Soviet Realist paintings, including works by artists such as Nina Sergeeva (influenced and mentored by Igor Grabar); Liubov Rabinovich, a master of scenes of Russian rural life; and Mikhail Soloviev, whose paintings show remarkable portrayals of wartime, battle scenes, and the heroic defenders of the country. There will be many landscapes and portraits of Soviet people, pioneers, and students included in this sale as well.

A major part of this auction will consist of fine and rare books divided in various genres such as; art movements (Suprematism, Futurism, Mir Iskusstva, etc.), monographs of famous artists (Malevich, Lissitsky, Polenov etc.), as well as a collection of several hundred pieces of sheet music by popular American musicians of different styles. The sale will have an extensive collection of exhibition catalogues, art history reference books, rare publications on Soviet film, auction catalogues, and a variety of others.
