LOS ANGELES, CA - 05/04/2016 (PRESS RELEASE JET)
Several missionaries with organizations across the most populous continent on Earth this year are making it their mission to spread the gospel for Asia like never before. They have recently set new goals and began new endeavors for 2016, with their goal being to bring more people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and to give them hope, especially those facing abject poverty and disheartening political turmoil.
One leading organization that is zealous about spreading the gospel for Asia is Asian Gospel Outreach, or AGO. This organization offers a hostel designed to educate children and train them to become leaders in areas where Christ-centered and quality education is simply not available. AGO leads kids in five countries to Christ and prepares them to become future evangelists.
Asian Outreach Cambodia is also striving to make a long-lasting impact on people’s lives. Asian Outreach Cambodia works to break the cycle of poverty in a country where the average household earns $70 per month, all while spreading the love of Christ to people there.
Asia remains a huge focus this year among Christian missionaries for several reasons. One, Asia’s languages are among the most challenging in the world to learn, which is why not many missionaries have been sent there over the years. Another deterrent for some Christian missionaries is that the continent’s religions are often viewed as idolatrous, mystical, and even sometimes anti-Christian. Furthermore, Asia is home to strong and potentially intimidating communist or socialist nations, such as China, North Korea, Vietnam, and Laos.
For the abovementioned missionary organizations, however, Asia is not the problem. Rather, this continent presents a major opportunity for Christian missionaries to share the solution to life’s troubles, through the gospel for Asia. With the help of these organizations, sharing the gospel and changing the lives of potentially billions of people in the East--not just now but for all eternity--will be more possible than ever before this spring and beyond.
