LANGKAWI, MALAYSIA - 01/26/2018 (PRESS RELEASE JET)

Ever thought of changing your life by becoming the owner of a cruise charter business? Sailaway Today is offering one lucky winner this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Current owner and founder of Damai Indah Luxury Cruises, Captain Eva Zimmermann, has spent the past decade building her boat charter business on the exotic island of Langkawi, but as she is now keen on moving on to new ventures, she is in search of a successor to pass on the reins.

Through the Sailaway Today campaign, Captain Eva will be raffling off her entire charter business — complete with two fully functional boats — as well as a luxury condominium on Langkawi itself. The winner of Sailaway Today will not only receive ownership of the company and condominium, but will also be presented with US$200,000 in cash to help him or her to continue the business. The total estimated value of the grand prize is approximately US$1.2 million.

Sailor and entrepreneur – Captain Eva’s story

Captain Eva Zimmermann was born in Hagen, Westfalen, in Germany. When she met her husband in 1991, the couple discovered their passion for the open ocean and shortly after tying the knot, decided to leave Germany to sail around the world. Their journey took them to many exotic destinations including Panama, the Easter Islands, South America, Tonga and Fiji. In 2005, they arrived in Langkawi, fell in love with the island, and decided to stay. Since then, Captain Eva has put her heart and soul into developing a successful charter cruise business that has been very well received by locals and visitors alike.

According to Captain Eva, running a sailing charter business in Langkawi has been an exhilarating experience. “It has been an amazing journey for me since I arrived in Langkawi. I have travelled to many locations in the Caribbean and Pacific but it was Langkawi’s special charm that persuaded me to settle down here. Since I started Damai Indah Luxury Cruises, my life has been enriched with many fond memories.”

“There were definitely challenges to running a charter boat business. You never know when foul weather can overturn your plans or when things look bleak because of the fierce competition. But the joy of seeing a smile on my passengers’ faces after taking them out to sea was worth every hardship. To the new owner of Damai Indah, I wish you the very best of luck. Taking over the wheel requires determination and a great deal of passion but the rewards are worth the efforts,” she added.

Langkawi – exotic nature at its finest

The beautiful island of Langkawi is part of an archipelago of 104 islands in the Andaman Sea, some 30 km off the mainland coast of northwestern Malaysia. It boasts a history rich in culture and mythology, sandy white beaches, as well as vast tracts of tropical and mangrove rainforest. In 2007, the island was awarded World Geopark status by UNESCO on account of its well-preserved natural landscape. Langkawi is a very popular tourist destination in Malaysia, especially among divers, families, couples and outdoor enthusiasts. It is also a duty-free zone.

Sailaway Today – a visual tale

For Sailaway Today, Captain Eva has collaborated with National Geographic award-winning photographer Adam Tan to capture the beauty of her two yachts and Langkawi’s stunning natural backdrop. Adam’s Langkawi photo collection showcases the island’s personality in a series of colour and black-and-white photographs. Each piece tells a part of the story and they all come together to paint a complete picture of the island and the sea surrounding it.

Adam Tan’s Langkawi collection is available exclusively at www.sailaway.today and only as part of the Sailaway Today campaign. Each purchase of one of his photo packages entitles the buyer to a number of Premium Lucky Draw tickets ranging from three for the Sunrise Package to 50 for the Voyager Package.

A vacation awaits – the early bird raffle

Sailaway Today is kicking off with an early bird promotion phase. All early bird package purchasers will be entered into a raffle to enjoy a luxurious holiday in Langkawi for two. This opulent holiday experience will treat the winner and a friend to the very best that Langkawi has to offer such as accommodation at five-star hotels, return First Class airfares from any departure point in the world, US$5,000 in spending money, and complimentary tours to the island’s top destinations. All of the participants of the early bird raffle will also be in the running for the grand prize of the Sailaway Today Lucky Draw.

The ultimate winner of the Sailaway Today Lucky Draw will walk away with Captain Eva’s charter cruise business and all of its assets including the yachts Damai Indah and Damai Indah Lagi. Both ships sport polished wooden finishings on their double decks and can accommodate about 60 people on board including crew members. As for the condominium, the property is located in the town of Kuah on mainland Langkawi and offers a majestic ocean view of the Kuah bay.
