Rophe Pharma Deems Frankincense Oil Natural Cancer Killer

One type of natural compounds showing significant positive results in treating cancer is that of essential oils, specifically frankincense oil. Frankincense is an aromatic resin obtained from trees of the genus Boswellia and has been hypothesized to exhibit a number of health supporting properties, including the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal and anticancer activities. Frankincense oil is prepared by the steam distillation of frankincense gum resin and is frequently used in aromatherapy practices.

Frankincense Oil and Cancer

Based on the available research, Gadimian says frankincense oil attacks the cancer cell in two different fronts: 1) It kills cancer cells on a molecular level and 2) It strengthens the immune system which in turn kills the cancer cells. Gadimian explains further below:

Frankincense Oil Anticancer Properties

Researchers at the National Center for Biotechnology Information and BioMed Central suggest that the oil may successfully destroy cancer cells. Kamla K Al Salmani of the University of Leicester found that boswellic acids are cytotoxic to ovarian cancer cells at pharmacologically achievable concentrations and may form the basis of a novel anticancer treatment for ovarian cancer, perhaps alongside conventional chemotherapy. Studies continue to emerge, demonstrating similar effects on bladder, breast and skin cancers . Just the fact that frankincense oil has shown efficacy in so many different types of cancer is a strong indication that it should be a potent cancer killer.

Strengthening the Immune System

The immune system can help to fight cancer. Some cells of the immune system can recognize cancer cells as abnormal and kill them. This line of reasoning has spurred the recent trend of considering immunotherapy as cancer treatment.

It is well known that people with weak immune systems run the risk of developing cancer, as a weak immune system is unable to fight abnormal cells (i.e., cancer cells) it detects in the body. Studies have indicated that frankincense oil can strengthen the immune system. Therefore, strengthening the immune system is an obvious cancer fighting benefit of frankincense oil.

Most studies referenced above are have used human cancer cells and animal models which need to be verified in human studies. However, there are a lot of testimonies on-line by the people who have used frankincense oil to treat their cancer (even late stage cancer) successfully. Thus, Gadimian advises cancer patients who are not responding to conventional cancer treatment to consider adding frankincense oil (in combination with turmeric) to their treatment plan.
