Inspirational author Celeste Johnson-Matheson recalls the day that forever changed so many lives. "I can't believe it's been 15 years. To me, it always seems like yesterday. September 11, 2001, started out as the most beautiful day. A day filled with Good Morning and Hello in the hallways. Unable to contact a friend I decided I would visit her office. My coworker told me to wait! Her words to me were to “wait”! Within minutes there was a loud boom, the office started shaking. It seemed as though time stood still. Everything appeared to be moving in slow motion. I will never forget the thick cloud of smoke that filled the hallways, a loud scream, and someone saying some folks will not make it out! The days ahead were filled with tears as I learned that many friends and coworkers were among those who lost their lives. We will never forget! Always Yesterday!”
“We should never forget those who lost their lives on 9-11 and those who lost their lives fighting the War on Terror. We will never forget the sacrifice you made for the world to be a safer and more peaceful place. The Global War on Terror is a call to action; a call which America answers with Dignity, Pride, and Honor. America is GREAT! GOD Bless America! The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave!”
