Professor Earl Hulihan selected as Top Consultant of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP).

Professor Earl W. Hulihan, Owner of Professor Earl W. Hulihan Consultancy, was selected as Top Consultant of the Year for 2017-2018 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP).

While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. With over 5 decades of professional experience as a seasoned and trusted medical health care consultant, Professor Hulihan has certainly proven himself as an accomplished professional and expert in the field.  He has demonstrated success not only in national and international health care consulting, but he has honed his expertise also in medicine, pharmaceuticals and teaching.  He now utilizes his experience and expertise as Principal Consultant of Professor Earl W. Hulihan Consultancy.  He is regarded by his peers as one of the nation’s top scientific experts in his field.  His impressive repertoire of roles have included serving as Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs at Medidata Solutions Worldwide, and held the positions of senior vice president, regulatory consulting services in several internationally know regulatory consulting firms.  His work with these internationally recognized GxP consulting firms involved providing regulatory consulting, auditing and training services to the global pharmaceutical, biologics, and medical device industries.  Professor Hulihan also was an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Informatics in the School of Health Related Professions at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey and still maintains active professorships at Rutgers University Medical School and the University of Shanghai Medical School.  Professor Hulihan was also invited by senior management of the China Food and Drug Administration to conduct two weeks of intensive training workshops for CFDA field inspectors and industry representatives.  Professor Hulihan’s key responsibilities are providing health care compliance advice and consultation to regulatory authorities and the pharmaceutical, biotech and device industries.  He partners with regulators in training to ensure that the industry is in compliance with applicable international regulations and guidelines through quality initiatives, such as internal and external compliance audits, training workshops and consultations.  Professor Hulihan also assists clients with development, implementation, and oversight of internal and external quality management systems.  Professor Hulihan’s areas of expertise are in quality assurance, regulatory affairs, clinical research, drug development, drug safety and quality systems.  He has also spent more than 31 years in clinical medicine and clinical research at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where he specialized in cardiovascular, pulmonary and endocrine areas of medicine, as well as psychiatry. 

Professor Hulihan’s extensive academic foundation includes a Master of Education from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, where he specialized in the areas of health and physical education, curriculum development, educational psychology, research design and teaching methodology. He completed a kinesiology and applied anatomy internship through New York University, as well as advanced training in physiology and cardiopulmonary physiology.  In 1971, Professor Hulihan earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Education and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education. He also holds teaching certifications in the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Throughout his illustrious career, Professor Hulihan has been active in his community and recognized worldwide for his outstanding leadership and commitment to the health care profession. He has received many awards, accolades’ and has been featured in numerous publications and magazines.  For 2018 he is being considered to have a feature in TIP (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine and for the Lifetime Achievement Award by the International Association of Top Professionals.  For 2017 he was selected as Tier of Excellence Award by Oxford Who’s Who and Top Consultant of the Year by IAOTP.  In 2012 selected as Distinguished Alumni Award by East Stroudsburg University.  He was the Appointed Professor with China Food and Drug Administration’s Institute of Executive Development and Training Center; appointed Visiting Professor to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine; Named Health Canada Scientific Expert; Recipient of the Founders Service Award and Outstanding Service Award; Special Joseph P. Kennedy Foundation Award; American Heart Association Distinguished Honors Award and named “Expert in His Field” by the FDA.  Professor Hulihan is affiliated with the Drug Information Association, The American Heart Association and the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society.  Professor Hulihan was also appointed to the ESU Alumni Association’s Board of Directors for a three-year term of office.

Aside from his successful career in medical consulting, Professor Hulihan has also been a sought after lecturer, speaker and author.  He has given lectures and speeches all around the world on every level and on every topic imaginable having to do with health care. He has also been a contributing author, co-editor to several medical textbooks and has authored a number of journal articles and publications.

Looking back, Professor Hulihan attributes his success to his experience, his long hours of research, mentors he has had along the way such as Doctors Hans Kraus, John B. Kostis,  and Peter Kuo, and staying passionate in all his endeavors.  Professor Hulihan says he has been blessed, he loves doing what he is doing, and feels this is just the beginning.  When he is not working Professor Hulihan enjoys traveling and staying current in the industry.

For the future, Professor Hulihan will continue to serve as a mentor to his clients, students and teach them the principles and methodologies and hopes to continue making a difference in people’s lives anyway that he can.
