Pharmacology University, an international educational institution, announces seminars for training and education in Medical Cannabis for the general public; with continuing education credits for attorneys in Arkansas

  FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS - 06/17/2017 (PRESS RELEASE JET)

Pharmacology University is an international educational institution which inspires education as a catalyst of the development in the progress of Medical Cannabis.  Its primary function in the State of Arkansas is to educate the general public and professionals about the recently approved Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment also known as Issue 6, as well as the creation of future Medical Cannabis programs, providing training and certifications to everyone interested in being part of the Medical Cannabis industry.

As providers of educational mission, we have been involved in the development of educational seminars which are recognized for the professionalism and content imparted in our seminars. Our seminars are primarily directed at doctors, attorneys, and the general public, promoting the use of this medical alternative in a safe and legal manner, ensuring high quality standards. Furthermore, this seminar will provide useful and relevant information for professionals, patients, caregivers, families, and community members to understand different aspects of the medical cannabis use. According to the Arkansas Medical Amendment the qualifying conditions for Medical Cannabis are as follows:

  • Cancer
  • Glaucoma
  • HIV/AIDS
  • Hepatitis C
  • ALS
  • Tourette's Syndrome
  • Alzheimer’s Disease
  • Crohn's Disease
  • Ulcerative Colitis
  • PTSD
  • Severe Arthritis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Peripheral Neuropathy
  • Intractable pain
  • Severe Nausea
  • Seizures

It should be noted that in the full health plan of cannabis, 16 (sixteen) diseases are included. In this specific case, we have presented only 6 (six) in the State of Arkansas. Information related to these diseases and the amount of patients show the following numbers:

  • According to the Center for the Control and Prevention of Diseases 13,000 patients are suffering from Cancer;
  • A study published in the Edition Arthritis & Rheumatism states that 675,300 patients suffer from Arthritis;
  • According to the Center for the Control and Prevention of Diseases 36,000 patients in Arkansas have Hepatitis C;
  • According Alzheimer's Statistics Arkansas Institution 54,000 patients suffer with Alzheimer's disease and is projected to increase by 7.4% by 2020;
  • In the case of mental disorders (including Tourette's Syndrome, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, ect.) The National Alliance of Mental Illness informed that a number of 222,000 patients suffer from mental disorders in Arkansas;
  • There are 4,482 patients suffering from HIV/AIDS according to the Arkansas Department of Health

Altogether, a total number of 1,004,782 people are suffering in the State of Arkansas from just these six ailments or 35% of the total population and they all deserve medical treatment options and hope to find relief.

Therefore, if we use the national average, that a patient of Medical Cannabis in the United States spends $ 388 a month for 12 months of the year and then multiply by 1.0 million patients, Arkansas would be faced with the reality that medicinal revenues would be a little more than 4.6 billion dollars annually.

Clearly, 1 million patients will not rush to visit a dispensary so in our projections, we only apply 10% or 100 thousand patients. Based on the national average set by the latest research / studies by the Mayo Clinic and NORML, a patient would need or would consume an average amount of 2oz monthly of cannabis flower, or 7 grams monthly of oil / concentrated cannabis.

Using 100 thousand patients spending $388/month, only in the 1st year, Dispensaries in Arkansas will receive an average attendance of 3,125 patients per month with an annual expenditure of $4,656. Dispensaries would gain sales of $14,500,000 dollars annually, which would provide the 32 Dispensaries with total sales of $465,600,000 in the first year of the program. In perspective, it would not be difficult to obtain about 30% of profit or $4,350,000 dollars a year per Dispensary or $139,200,000 combined.

We see that Arkansas would need to grow a minimum of 150,000 pounds annually. Based on all this information, the Arkansas Department of Health is only permitting 5 wholesale cultivation centers, however the dispensaries are allowed to grow 50 plants, each with a proper license. Please understand that for each plant it requires 20 sqft. to fully grow. So, based on the average yield of 12 oz. of flower per plant this would require 200,000 plants per year to achieve the 150,000 pounds required. Therefore, each cultivation center would have to grow 10,000 plants per cultivation cycle, in other words, 7,500 pounds of flower per cycle of crop or 30,000 lbs. per year per cultivation center; taking us back to an industry that promises to reward Arkansas in its first year with $300 million in sales.

Currently, it is no secret, and less than a simple speculation that Medical Cannabis is an effective and less harmful treatment to relieve patients suffering from debilitating conditions. Also, this medicine is not limited to improving the quality of life of the patient, it is a less expensive and more accessible treatment. For this reason, there are more and more physicians who are getting licensed to recommend this alternative medicine to their patients. However, several professionals have expressed concern and a feeling of uncertainty for not having sufficient knowledge in this subject; conflict arises as a result of many years of erroneous theories and perceptions about cannabis. Precisely, the extensive need for information is the main reason for us to specialize as a company to offer these educational seminars about Medical Cannabis.

Nevertheless, it should be noted that in such challenging times for our country, a collective effort is required to improve and without a doubt, this emerging industry represents a stimulus to the economy with the development of businesses, new jobs and substantial economic benefits for the State’s budget. Despite the resistance that some sectors may show, knowledge is necessary to assess this issue objectively, without bias, using critical thinking. As part of the process, it is also necessary to meet the training and licensing required to be responsibly prepared. For this reason, we invite you to be part of the first seminars we will offer in Arkansas. During our seminar, we will cover topics such as legal aspects, the history of cannabis, chemistry and science of cannabis, the process of oil extraction, licensing and investment, good agricultural practices, regulations and legal aspects, as well as concepts of dispensary and "dispensary technician". This seminar will be held on Sunday, June 25th of 2017; we will begin at 10:00 a.m. and conclude at 7:00 p.m. The seminar will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn Fayetteville, located at 1325 N Palak Drive, Fayetteville, AR. Basic fee will be $300.00, which includes lunch, course and certificate. The VIP registration fee which will be $400.00, includes all of the above in the basic registration and a book with the material to take home. In the case of lawyers interested in taking the course and receive continuing education credits, the tuition fee will be $425.00, which includes the same benefits as the VIP, plus the continuing education credits.
