United States, Florida, Palm Beach - 10/29/2019 (PRESS RELEASE JET)

An innovative adoption matching technology has created special meaning for more than 240 Florida children and their families who celebrate National Adoption Month this November. Of the more than 200 children matched with families, more than 50 adoptions have already been finalized. The game-changing technology is called Family-Match.

In July 2018, Selfless Love Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to transforming the lives of foster youth, partnered with Adoption-Share, another non-profit whose mission is to bring reform and innovation to child welfare, to cover the costs of bringing its Family-Match technology to child welfare agencies in Florida.

“Together, we are changing the face of adoption in Florida,” says Selfless Love Foundation founder and CEO Ashley Brown. “As a by-product of adoption myself, I know what it means to be given a second chance by a family. I pinch myself daily thinking about how many children and families we have impacted with this technology.”

Family-Match is a data-driven technology. With a compatibility assessment developed by the former lead researchers from eHarmony, the software utilizes predictive models that help case workers with placement and permanency decisions.

“After making our match with Family-Match, we realize how beneficial it is to have data that validates the placement of a child,” says Darcy Stubbs, who adopted Luca. “Our little boy has transitioned seamlessly into our home.”

More than 100,000 children and teens living in the US foster care system seek permanent families each year. The primary objectives of Family-Match are to decrease time to adoption placement, match children to families where they will flourish, and improve case worker efficiency.

“The opportunity to bring our Family-Match program to the state of Florida through our partnership with Selfless Love Foundation has been truly game changing,” says Thea Ramirez, Adoption-Share founder and CEO. “Together with our agency partners across the state we are seeing children achieve permanency through adoption.”
