Noli Me Tangere – the New Musical Concert

Mid-Atlantic Foundation For Asian Artists (MAFFAA) has forged a partnership with the Tanghalang Pilipino (TP), of the Philippines, for the exclusive rights to Award-Winning, Noli Me Tangere – The Musical Concert in the United States and Internationally. With this partnership, MAFFAA also gained access to other TP’s production shows for future staging.

MAFFAA’s President – Dr. Lorna Imperial of Washington D.C., is an Entrepreneur nurse practitioner. Having a deep passion for the performing arts and ardent love of giving back to her “motherland,” she launched Le Opera Noli Me Tangere USA Tour. Dr. Imperial said, “Noli Me Tangere is a unique way to showcase Filipino’s rich cultural heritage through the arts.” The opera was shown over twenty times in big cities such as Chicago, New York, D.C. Boston and Richmond with raving reviews.

In collaboration with Kristian Lei Enterprises, Noli Me Tangere – the New Musical Concert lands its USA debut in Honolulu. Hawaii’s own Kristian Lei is an International Musical Headliner and is known for her angelic voice and stunning Broadway performances. On top of performing the Lead Role as Maria Clara, Lei is Directing and Co-Producing this timeless piece. Other stars include, Broadway’s Evan D’Angeles, Julius Mina, Anna Davide, Ramon Sumibcay, Jay Flores and more! Kristian Lei says, “The Music and voices will touch the hearts of all who experience this concert.”

Noli Me Tangere – the Musical is based on the Historical Novel written by Philippines National hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. Jose Rizal conveyed a strong sense of patriotism promoting social equality and political reforms that led to a National movement and uprising. The book resurfaced as a theatrical masterpiece. Noli Me Tangere – The Musical was written in the Philippines by the iconic composer and arranger - Ryan Cayabyab, with Libretto provided by National Artist for Literature – Bienvenido Lumbera. National Director of Design – Salvador Bernal, created the overall look of the Musical. 

In June’s Philippines History Month, two major events will be celebrated – Philippines Independence Day on June 12, and the Birthday of Dr. Jose Rizal on June 19. As an addition to these festivities, Noli Me Tangere – The Musical Concert premieres on June 14 (7:30 p.m.), June 15 (7:30 p.m.) and June 16 (3 p.m.)! All are welcomed to attend the Tagalog Masterpiece, as there will be English Subtitles provided for each song.
