Treatment of substance abuse requires more than treating the symptoms, Sober Serenity treats the whole body.

HAMPSTEAD, NEW HAMPSHIRE - 05/15/2017 (PRESS RELEASE JET)

Over 20 million people in the United States suffer from substance abuse addiction according to Addiction Center. Approximately 100 people die each day from drug overdoses alone, triple what it was 20 years ago. This raises the question, do traditional substance abuse treatment programs work?

Rich Kania, member of the Alliance for Addiction Solutions and co-founder of Sober Serenity, conducted an impromptu survey at an event sponsored by the Massachusetts Bureau of Substance Abuse Services on April 16th, 2017. To a capacity audience of licensed clinicians, Mr. Kania posed the question, “Based on your personal experience, what is the relapse rate of clients who have participated in your substance abuse treatment programs?” The response was nearly 80 percent of attendees reported client failures in traditional substance abuse programs.

Mr. Kania, an advanced licensed substance abuse clinician with 30+ years’ experience, developed a program that focuses on repairing the damage done to a person’s body after suffering from substance abuse. By using amino acid therapy, Mr. Kania has partnered with Addie Kania to develop a highly successful substance abuse treatment regimen.

Amino acids are the building blocks in food that the human body uses throughout. Julia Ross, The Recovery Systems Clinic in Mill Valley California, has worked with amino acids to bring nutritional therapy and biochemical rebalancing to patients fighting substance abuse cravings and other ailments.

Through their facility, Sober Serenity, patients are treated for the underlying damage done from substance abuse. This complimentary therapy focuses on repairing the neurotransmitters in the brain that can help reduce cravings and potential relapse for clients.

Amino acids are only one part of the solution. Dr. Kenneth Blum has researched the phenomenon known as “Reward Deficiency Syndrome (RDS)”. RDS involves a mix of chronic substance abuse, genetics, and nutritional deficiency that creates a situation within the body involving natural levels of dopamine not settling correctly. This syndrome leads sufferers towards self-medication with alcohol, drugs, overeating, and even risk taking activities.

At the Sober Serenity office Rich Kania and his team offer complimentary relapse prevention techniques. Treating substance abuse is much more than treating the symptoms, the body has underlying problems that need treatment.

If you are suffering from substance abuse, whether treatment is sought with the experienced staff of Sober Serenity or not, please seek help. Substance abuse can be too much to defeat in your life alone. Sober Serenity’s staff are prepared to treat the whole body, not just the symptoms.
