Pro-Bono Work Highlighted

LAS VEGAS, NV - 12/19/2016 (PRESS RELEASE JET)

Living Free Health & Fitness, a Las Vegas-based non-profit addiction recovery organization, announced its preliminary impact results for 2016.

“We had a pretty amazing year”, commented Shelley Poerio, founder and president. “A lot less building. A lot more doing. We anticipate a big year in 2017 in bringing the kind of quality programming traditionally reserved for cash pay and expensive insurance beneficiaries. We are democratizing recovery so that everyone, regardless of social status, receives leading-edge, best practices care!”

Pro-bono services hours were up 215% over 2015. Charitable goods donations and deliveries were 28% higher. And the median individual cash contribution to the organization increased 33%. Participation also leaped. The number of goods’ donors doubled and the number of cash donors tripled. Programs were initiated that provided opportunities for those needing community service hours to meet criminal justice requirements. And paid-work opportunities were provided for those having completed the organization's sober living enrichment program.

“We’re making great progress, but we need more community involvement to meet our programmatic goals in 2017”, remarked Poerio. “We anticipate bringing our services into two or three of the largest Las Vegas-area non-profit addiction rehabilitation providers next year.”
