Las Vegas Estate Planning Attorneys Give Free Custom Wills To Seniors

The estate planning attorneys at Clear Counsel Law Group have quietly been giving back to the community for years now by serving senior citizens in Henderson and Las Vegas. Every month the attorneys spend dozens of hours of their "billable time" at a local senior center writing completely customized wills for all comers.

This service, which they call "Free Will Friday," has been going on since 2016 and every session has been packed. Estate planning attorney Jordan Flake reports that there is huge demand for legal help. "We often have to schedule people to come back to the next session." Currently, even with multiple attorneys attending each Free Will Friday, the appointment slots are booked weeks or even months in advance.

"We're planning on doing a second Free Will Friday each month at a different senior center, to help keep up with demand," Flake reports.

When asked how this free service affects the bottom-line of the company, Flake shrugs. "It's not what's most important to us. This is one simple way we can give back to the community. Plus the benefit to us is really invaluable. We're making friends and doing good. That's much more rewarding than invoicing another few hours at a desk. Lawyers can get hyper-focused on the day-to-day stuff. This takes us out of it and reminds us why we got into the law in the first place: to do good."

The locals seem to agree. One Free Will Friday customer named Nancy said, "He helped us to think of the many scenarios that needed to be addressed that we never would have thought of. I originally prepared my own will with a software from a well known financial planner. However, I wanted to make sure that my children and spouse had a document that would hold up without any problem in probate court. I'm glad I did because I had some missed some very important items."
