Katherine McArthur selected as Top Attorney of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP)

Katherine L. McArthur, Personal Injury Attorney and Owner of McArthur Law Firm, has just recently been selected as Top Attorney of the Year for 2019 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP).

While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. With over 4 decades of professional experience as a practicing attorney and serving the greater Macon, Georgia community, Ms. McArthur has certainly proven herself as an accomplished professional and expert in the legal field. As a dynamic, results-driven leader, she has demonstrated success not only as an Attorney but in every position she has ever held. Her impressive repertoire of prior roles have included working as a Law Clerk for Professor Walker E. Blakely, Evidence Professor at UNC, an associate attorney at Mullis, Reynolds, Marshall, Horne and Phillips from 1980-1982, where she then became a partner in 1982.  Kathy established her own firm in 2007 and has since secured over $250 million in recoveries for her clients. Her areas of expertise include medical malpractice, truck wrecks, automobile wrecks and wrongful death. 

Ms. McArthur earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of North Carolina School of Law, Chapel Hill, and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Kathy is board certified in civil trial advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and is also a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum.

Throughout her illustrious career, Ms. McArthur has received many awards, accolades and has been featured in publications for her outstanding leadership and commitment to the legal industry. For 2019, she is being considered for the Empowered Woman Award by the International Association of Top Professionals and to be featured in T.I.P Magazine (Top Industry Professional Magazine.) For her selection as Top Attorney of the Year by IAOTP she will be honored at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. She has been named Best Lawyers “Lawyer of the Year” multiple years in a row, in Medical Malpractice in Georgia.  She has been listed as one of the Top 10 Lawyers in Georgia by Super Lawyers. She maintains her AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubble. Ms. McArthur was the recipient of the Woman of Distinction from the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia. She was named Best in Business in 2011 – 2019.  She received the John Drew Smith Award from the Macon Tennis Association. In 2000 she was selected as the Georgia Woman of Achievement Award, presented by the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers. Best Law Firms in America, as rated by U.S. News & World Report, 2013-Present and was featured in Atlanta Magazine as Top Women Attorneys in Georgia, just to name a few.

Aside from her successful career, Ms. McArthur also serves on numerous boards for various organizations and is active in her community.  She is a member of the National Trial Lawyers, Million Dollar Advocates Forum, Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, Georgia Trial Lawyers, Past President of Georgia Association of Woman Lawyers, Past President of William Augustus Bootle American Inn of Court, American Association of Justice, National Board of Trial Advocacy, Public Justice Foundation and past President of the American Board of Trial Advocates Georgia Chapter.

Looking back, Kathy attributes her success to her training, her perseverance, mentors she has had along the way, and her passion for the law.
