Kannan Soundararajan was selected as Top Director of the Year in the Maritime Industry by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP)

Kannan Soundararajan, Director for Fleet Management Limited was just selected as Top Director of the Year in the Maritime Industry by the International Association of Top Professionals IAOTP for his outstanding leadership and dedication to the field. 

While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. With over 28 years of professional experience in the Marine industry and as a Technical Engineer, Kannan has certainly proven himself as an accomplished professional and expert in the field.  As a dynamic results-driven leader, Kannan has demonstrated success not only as a Director of Fleet Management Hong Kong, but in every position ever obtained.  His impressive repertoire of prior roles included Chief Engineer on Board Ships and Shore Management of Ship management company.  Kannan’s present  key responsibilities for the company is  managing Tankers of various types .With a wide experience in managing  Containers, Bulk Carriers and Gas Tanker Vessels, Kannan is in charge of the maintenance and repair for fleets of oil / Chemical tankers and commands full technical management of ships. 

Kannan earned a Bachelor Degree in Engineering from a Marine engineering college in Kolkatta and has been honing the skills with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. The President of IAOTP, Stephanie Cirami stated that “Choosing Kannan for this award was an easy decision for our panel to make.  He is brilliant at what he does, his list of accomplishments and accolades are beyond impressive, he is active in his community and other organizations, he was exactly what we were looking for.  We know we will be seeing more outstanding things from this man and hope to spend time with him at the gala.”

For 2019 he is being considered for a feature in T.I.P (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine and for the Lifetime Achievement Award by the International Association of Top Professionals.  For 2018, he was named Top Director of the Year in the Maritime Industry by IAOTP.  For 2017, he was selected as Outstanding Professional of the Year by the International Society of Business Leaders and for 2016, named VIP member of ISOBL.

Looking back, Kannan attributes his success to his perseverance, mentors he has had along the way and staying passionate in all of his endeavors. When he is not working, Kannan enjoys traveling, and spending time with his family. For the future, Kannan will continue to thrive as an professional and hopes to continue making a difference in people’s lives anyway that he can.
