Is Trump too Narcissistic to be Affected by Cyberbullying?

By: Tracey Osborne, Empowered Fempreneurs

I have a confession.

I’m guilty of tossing some zingers #45’s way on Twitter.

I got caught up in seeing funny responses to some of his tweets and wanted to join in. Be part of the “in” crowd.

Then I posted a picture I found on Facebook of a fake cover of The New Yorker.

And it dawned on me. I wasn’t being funny. I wasn’t being cute. I was being a cyberbully.

“Cyberbullying or cyberharassment is a form of bullying or harassment using electronic forms of contact.” – Wikipedia

Regardless of the fact that I think Trump isn’t the brightest light bulb in the box…and definitely not the right person to lead our country, he does qualify as human.

Whether or not he has feelings is still open for debate although I’m pretty sure they are tightly locked away only to be brought out on special occasions.

But either way, being a bully is not the kind of person I am or want to be.

I can’t stand politics. It brings out the absolute worst in people. Politicians make up the best lies they can to get votes.

Elections leave me feeling like I’m standing in the middle of a bunch of monkeys slinging poop at each other.

People get ruffled and upset about every, little thing. They turn against friends and family. They become violent.

Nope…I can’t stand politics.

But even worse than politics…bullies.

I despise bullies. Someone with self-esteem issues who has nothing better to do than pick on someone weaker, so they feel better about themselves.

And social media has become a breeding ground for cyberbullies. We’re doing it without even realizing that’s what we’re doing.

These are not the type of people that I want to be associated with in any way, shape, or form.

Now before all you haters turn on me, let me set you straight. I am in NO WAY defending Trump.

I think he loves the attention…good or bad. He’s in the limelight and that’s what narcissists love.

My point here is, we are a country of bullies being led by one of the biggest bullies of them all.

It’s bad enough we have become a nation of thin-skinned people who get their panties in a twist because someone says, “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas”.

And heaven forbid someone take a stand against something they firmly believe in and kneel during the Star-Spangled Banner.

Off with their heads!

But I will be damned if I am going to become a bully just because everyone else is doing it. What example are we setting for future generations? That it’s ok to berate Trump just because he’s the President? Or that he isn’t really human and his feelings don’t matter?

I don’t know about you, but that’s not how I want to raise my children. My kids know that I will be the first one to defend someone being bullied, abused, picked on.

I stick up for what I believe in. That’s why I am creating the Be Their Voice Foundation.

Someone has to defend those who can’t defend themselves.

Someone needs to be the voice for those who are afraid to speak out against abusers, attackers, bullies.

That someone is you. And me.

It’s time we put our differences aside and band together to strengthen our country.

To stop sexual abuse and harassment.

To stop cyberbullying.

To stop homelessness.

Turn that hatred for our narcissistic leader toward something more powerful. Something that will make a difference in the lives of our fellow citizens.
