In time for Valentine’s Day: Innovation continues at YourNovel.com where a couple’s photo becomes the book cover while they star on every page inside

The company that created the genre of personalized romance novels more than two decades ago has upped its game for Valentine’s 2018. YourNovel.com is further customizing the romance novel experience so that customers will not only be able to star between the pages but can use their own photo as the full cover of their book.

This is the latest example of innovation from YourNovel.com, created by a North Carolina husband-wife team in 1992. J.S. Fletcher and Kathy M. Newbern write together as Fletcher Newbern and have added works by other authors to the company’s lineup of more than 50 book and ebook options.

Says Fletcher, “It’s been quite the journey from black-and-white silhouette covers and cookbook binding to full color covers bound just like a best-seller. Soon after, we started letting customers upload their photograph to print on a book’s existing cover, which is still available. Now this year, we’re proud to announce their special photograph can become the whole front of the book.”

Newbern adds, “Plus, you can add your own special pages inside to include a one-of-a-kind message, such as a memory of how you met or even a wedding proposal.

“Customization,” she says, “continues to grow in popularity as a way to make someone feel special in a world of mass-marketed greeting cards and gifts. What we offer is the chance to customize a book -- front cover to final page -- starring the two of you.”

Ever since the company started, couples have been able to personalize a romantic adventure using 25 details they supply like their names, hometown, places of work, eye and hair color, best friends, favorite perfume, cologne and music, affectionate nicknames for one another, and how long they’ve been together.

“Over the years,” says Fletcher, “our books have been called the ultimate vanity valentine, and we’ve been dubbed computerized cupids.

Among the company’s best sellers are Another Day in Paradise, set at a luxury resort in the Caribbean; Rome: Diamonds, Danger and Desire with a secret agent plot set in the Eternal City; and Island of Love where the book’s hero and heroine confront black-pearl thieves in Tahiti. Those are three of 15 titles customizable on the full front cover. For all titles, couples can add a photo on an existing cover.

Novels, in prices to meet all budgets, come in paperback, starting at $40, hardbacks at $80, as well as ebook novellas as low as $10. Photos added to the existing cover are $25 additional and the full custom cover option is an added $40.

Other YourNovel.com titles take place in Jamaica, Alaska, New Orleans, Key West, on England’s River Thames, at worldwide beaches, on cruise ships, a dude ranch, ski lodge, and more. Popular for the guys is a golf fantasy book and three detective novels.
