IIT-Kharagpur Grads Get Highest Number of Job Offers Before They Even Graduate

  OMAHA, NE - 09/27/2017 (PRESS RELEASE JET)

The Indian Institute of Technology-Kharagpur has just received its highest amount of pre-placement offers (PPOs), over 200, from many top multi-national companies. Some of the companies that have offered PPOs are Goldman Sachs, Samsung, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, Adobe Systems, and Wipro. Many of these PPOs are being offered to the final year students based on their work performance while holding internship positions during the previous summer’s recess. The final placements take place in December of 2017. 

IIT-KGP Professor Debasis Deb who is the professor in charge of the Career Development Center on campus commented, “This is an encouraging sign for us that companies recognize our students’ hard work and motivation during the internship.” Deb believes that there are several factors that have contributed to the high demand for IIT-KGP students including wide choices in course curriculum available through flexible academic programs, dedication and experience of the faculty, and a solid alumni presence in many of the recruiting organizations.

Additionally, over 200 internship offers have been offered to the pre-final year KGP students for their summer of 2018.
