Huge Milestone for Shared Parenting Movement

For the first time in history, leaders who have worked on shared parenting legislation will come together in our nation’s capital to share ideas, strategies, and to build a united effort to introduce 50/50 shared parenting legislation across the U.S.

Leaders from over 20 states and representatives of over 30 shared parenting organizations will be in attendance May 20th, from noon to 7pm, at the Holiday Inn in Old Town Alexandria. They will be joined by state representatives, authors, organization founders, and filmmakers in effort to raise awareness, build strategies, and take action for shared parenting!

Mark Ludwig - Founder AFESPMark Ludwig, founder and director of Americans for Equal Shared Parenting, will be in attendance to discuss about his work with the leaders of 20 different states, working on legislation for shared parenting in 2018. 

It has been definitively proven that equal shared parenting plans are in the best short and long term interest of the child. The speakers at this event will explain how to introduce this state legislation, giving the best answers to common arguments against shared parenting in addition to how to best build relationships with legislators so that these necessary pieces of legislation can be passed to better the future of America.

Other speakers will include Jesse West Sr, founder of Dads Can Too, Rep Tom Pischke who has sponsored several custody bills in South Dakota that were passed this year, Melissa Isaak, one of the most well-known attorneys in the country for her work in Alabama fighting for equality in the family court system, as well as Chuck Goetschel, Chad Loudermilk,  Dr. Jim Bedell, Jeremy Roberts, Yahya McClain and Philly Slimm.

Additional discussions will be lead on how to utilize the power of legislative assistants, navigating the successful passage of shared parenting legislation, avoiding common obstacles in the legislative process along with how to utilize the media.
