BOSTON, MA - 09/18/2017 (PRESS RELEASE JET)

More than 300 business leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals from among the City’s Healthcare and Life Sciences community will gather on Tuesday, September 19th, 2017 from 5:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M at the Partners Healthcare Headquarters to celebrate GK50 Boston’s 50 Most Influential People of Color in Healthcare & Life Sciences at Get Konnected! Boston’s premier inclusive business networking event.

Colette Phillips Communications, Inc. (CPC) and Get Konnected! have partnered with Neighborhood Health Plan and Partners HealthCare to produce GK50 Boston’s 50 Most Influential People of Color in their respective area within Healthcare and Life Sciences. In creating this list, we invited both people within the industry and the public to identify and nominate individuals from culturally diverse backgrounds who have distinguished themselves in the following Healthcare and Life Sciences areas: Administration, Artificial Intelligence, Biotech, Community, Innovation, Legal Counsel, Patient Care, Pharmaceutical, Research, and Teaching.

“Greater Boston is the Healthcare and Life Sciences hub of the world, with many of the country’s top teaching hospitals and life sciences companies, located within a five-mile radius of each other”, said Get Konnected Founder Colette Phillips. “This status as a center of innovation in technology, healthcare, research, and academia continues to draw people of all ethnicities and all parts of the globe to Greater Boston. However, the contribution and influence of culturally diverse professionals in this industry are not as widely known, highlighted, or celebrated. Get Konnected! aims to change that with the GK50

“We’re very pleased to sponsor Get Konnected! with Neighborhood Health Plan to honor and recognize professionals of color who are making a difference every single day in the fields of health care and life sciences in our region,” said Dani Monroe, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer. “Partners HealthCare is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive talent pipeline and workforce system-wide.”

“By co-sponsoring this important event with Partners HealthCare, Neighborhood Health Plan continues to demonstrate that our commitment to diversity is not only embedded in our mission and core values, but also reflected by our employees, work culture, and investments. It is central to our ability to deliver the high-quality coverage and world-class service for which we are known in the communities we serve,” said David Segal, President and CEO.

Founded nine years ago, on the premise of “inclusion,” Get Konnected! has become Boston’s premier inclusive business networking event. In 2016, we made history by creating Boston's first comprehensive list of the 100 Most Influence People of Color. Recognizing Healthcare and Life Science as a key economic driver in the Commonwealth, we want to celebrate individuals who are making positive contributions to the economic and social fabric of our vibrant city and state.
