Female entrepreneurs gather to expand their businesses while helping their local community

“Turn your passion into a platform” is the underlying theme of a workshop taking place in downtown Austin. The event is a gathering of female entrepreneurs and professionals  looking to grow in their business and make a bigger impact in their local communities.

“This is an opportunity for women nationwide to come together in beautiful downtown Austin, and celebrate where they are going as entrepreneurs while learning from the achievements of  other women who have helped pave the way” says event host, Erica Latrice.

Her commitment to helping female entrepreneurs “stand on their story” began more than 5 years ago when she  found herself in a struggle.

"Years ago,  I had no job, I was literally starting from scratch, The company I worked for closed and I was going through divorce, there were just so many different challenges," said Latrice.

She took what she learned from battling these obstacles and turned it into a website with advice and tips. Her website became so popular, she turned it into a business called "Be Inspired". Now, she's teaching women how to follow in her footsteps through the AmplifyHer events.

The workshops feature lessons on how to accomplish goals and follow through on tasks. It is not limited only to entrepreneurs, women from various walks and from all across the country have come together to attend.

"I was a woman who was very much in the shadows and kind of wanted to walk with my head down and my face covered, no one look at me I don't have anything to say. I felt like my voice didn't really matter," said Staci Gustiuc, who attended the seminar.

After working with Latrice for several months, Gustiuc now runs her own business and has overcome her fear of public speaking. She will be a featured speaker for the AmplifyHer tour.
