Dr. Natalie Geary selected as Empowered Woman of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP)

Natalie W. Geary, MD., F.A.A.P, Owner and President of Private Pediatrics of Palm Beach was just recently selected as the Empowered Woman of the Year for 2019 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP).  

While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few women are selected for this distinction.  The Empowered Woman of the Year is an award that is given to 10 Women who have excelled tremendously in a male dominated industry and have inspired other professionals from their outstanding commitment and contributions to society. IAOTP is incredibly honored to be able to recognize Dr. Geary for her success and dedication.

Dr. Geary is being recognized for this honor for empowering women on a global scale to not only be successful as a Doctor, but also as an Author, Entrepreneur, and dedicated health care provider, who has traveled around the world to promote children’s health and to help the underserved populations. She has provided visionary leadership in training and practicing Ayurvedic Medicine and worked in foreign lands for the betterment of the communities. Her expertise is infusing proper nutrition among the youth of the world.  

Dr. Geary will be honored for this achievement at the 2019 IAOTP’s Annual Awards Gala being held at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas.  She will be presented not only with the Empowered Woman of the Year Award but will also be recognized for her selection as Humanitarian of the Year from 2018 to commemorate her nonprofit work.

We are looking forward to celebrate her success at this year’s gala.”

For several years Dr. Geary practiced pediatrics in New York City hospitals and then moved to New Mexico (one of the poorest states in America at that time), to work in a hospital-based clinic and she founded a nonprofit organization known as Mobile Pediatrics.  Dr. Geary traveled into small towns of New Mexico to screen children and give them vaccines and she set up portable clinics in schools, post offices and any place where it was possible to serve the children of the area.  When she moved back to NY she opened her practice and travelled to India, Indonesia, Thailand and the Republic of Malawi where she helped to establish a clinic for children orphaned by AIDS.  She continues to be a busy Mother of 3, Doctor, Advocate for children all around the world, and she owned a very busy practice in NY. Dr. Geary decided to relocate to Miami for family reasons, where she accepted a position as Director of Executive Medicine and International Health and became Chief Patient Experience Officer at the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine.  After years at the University of Miami she chose to leave hospital administration and return to primary care where she has reestablished a private practice, VedaHEALTH.Her integrative medical practice offers allopathic and Ayurvedic medicine as well as wellness coaching.

Dr. Geary started her studies in the field of medical anthropology at Harvard University, where it was still relatively in its infancy stage.  Integrative Medicine and Medical Anthropology is defined as the study of human health and disease, health care systems and biocultural adaptation.  This study was developed in the 60’s and 70’s and analyzes how culture and society are related to issues of health, health care and related issues.  While studying at Harvard, Dr. Geary did her thesis research on the comparison of the health care beliefs and utilization practices in cancer patients. She received her medical anthropology degree from Harvard University and earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.  From there, she went on to complete her residency at New York University’s Bellevue Hospital Center. 

Throughout her illustrious career Dr. Geary has received numerous awards and has been recognized worldwide for her outstanding leadership and her commitment to the profession.  In 2014 she was selected as Professional Woman of the Year by the National Association of Professional Women.  In 2015 she was selected as Pinnacle Professional of the Year by Continental Who’s Who and in 2016 graced the front cover of Inner Circle Executive Magazine.For 2017 selected as Top Pediatrician of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals.  For 2018 she graced the front cover of TIP (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine, and named Humanitarian of the Year Award.For 2019 selected as Empowered Woman of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP).Dr. Geary sits on the board of the Medical Society of NY and Medical Society of Florida.  Dr. Geary is also the founder of charities such as ONCALL4KIDS and she is a former member of the board of directors for Containers 2 Clinics (C2C).  

Aside from her great achievements, accolades and success, Dr. Geary is also an internationally renowned sought after speaker & author.  Often contributing to articles and research, Dr. Geary is regarded as a knowledgeable and respected figure on these topics. She is author of The Food Cure for Kids: A Nutritional Approach to Your Child’s Wellness” which is a book that explains how nutritional imbalance can dramatically effect a child’s health and also highlights the difference of allergies and dietary intolerance.  Dr. Geary also co-authored the book, The South Beach Diet Gluten Solution, which is a book that explains how gluten is hard to digest found in wheat and grains and how some people’s sensitivity to this protein can make it hard for them to lose weight.  A true Innovator, Dr. Geary also created vedaPURE brand, which is an alternative nature pure skincare system.  The collection of skincare products are made with organic plant, fruit extracts and soothing oils.
