Dr. Kathleen Anderson Walk selected as Top Doctor of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP).

Dr. Kathleen Anderson Walk, M.D., FAAFP, Founder and Executive Director of Hope International Services, was selected as “Top Doctor of the Year” for 2017 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP)!

While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, longevity in the field, other affiliations and contributions to their communities.  All honorees are invited to attend the IAOTP’s annual award gala at the end of this year for a night to honor their achievements.

With over forty years of experience in the Healthcare field, Dr. Walk has certainly proven herself as an accomplished professional and expert in the field.  Dr. Walk combined her longevity in the field and utilized her talents to found Hope International Services, which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting healing crusades, education and medical care in countries with limited access to advanced healthcare.  After working for two years as a physician in Omaha, Nebraska, she spent the next twelve years practicing as a medical doctor and missionary. She has traveled throughout the world providing spiritual nourishment and healthcare services through the inception of Hope International Services. As a results-driven leader, Dr. Walk's endeavors took her as far as Bangladesh and Nigeria, where she worked with a medical relief team under the International Red Cross during the Nigerian Civil War, as well as Malawi, where her organization helped to build an orphanage and continues to operate it today. In Bangladesh she built and operated a 100 bed hospital.  And she has a primary school in Pakistan for children who live in the ghettos.

Dr. Walk earned her M.D. and a Fellowship in Obstetrics from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She obtained status as a Doctor of Theology with the University of Nigeria, Golden Gate University, and Trinity College of the Ministerial Arts, Nigeria. In addition, she holds a B.A. in General Science and Christianity from Dana College.  She is recently ordained by Ministries Vision International, a worldwide organization.  She has authored two books, and her poetry has been published in eight books.  She has also published articles in many magazines.

Dr. Walk has been recognized worldwide for her outstanding leadership and commitment to the healthcare profession as well for her philanthropic spirit. She has received many awards, accolades’ and has been featured in numerous publications and magazines. Dr. Walk has been honored with the Humanitarian Award by the American Academy of Family Practice and was a two-time recipient of America's Top Family Doctors award.  She was named “Nebraska Family Physician of the Year” and selected as Outstanding Professional of the Year. Additionally, her unparalleled success has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who, Who's Who Among American Executives, The World's Who's Who of Women, and selected as Top Doctor of the Year with the International Association of Top Professionals.  She has had a chapter dedicated to her in the Top 101 Industry Expert Publication and was featured in Pro-Files Magazine.

Looking back, Dr. Walk attributes her success to her faith, perseverance, strength and her passion for helping people. For the future, she will continue to grow as a professional and wants to continue to make a difference by improving patient care and saving people’s lives through her humanitarian efforts.
