Dr. Jalaal Hayes selected as Top Influential Chemist of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP)

Jalaal A. Hayes, Ph.D, Research Chemist, STEM/STEAM Educator, Author, Inventor, TEDx Speaker, Owner & Founder of Elyte Universal Network (EUN), Visiting Assistant Professor of Physical Chemistry at Delaware State University, was just recently named Top Influential Chemist of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals for his outstanding leadership and commitment to the industry.  

While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. Dr. Hayes is a dynamic, results-driven leader who has demonstrated success not only as the youngest PhD graduate from Delaware State University, but Dr. Hayes has also demonstrated success as a research chemist, author, inventor, TEDx Speaker and STEM/ STEAM educator. In 2014, Dr. Hayes founded Elyte Universal Network (EUN), which is a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) based content entity that focuses on making hard and complex sciences simple and accessible to all communities.Dr. Hayes’s impressive repertoire of prior roles have included Research Assistant at Delaware State University and Howard University NASA University Research Center, Poster and Oral Presenter at various scientific conferences, and Science Instructor in the Philadelphia area.

Throughout his illustrious career thus far, Dr. Hayes has received many awards, accolades and has been recognized worldwide for his outstanding leadership and commitment to the profession.For 2019 he is being considered to be featured in TIP (Top Industry Professional Magazine), and is also being considered for IAOTP’s Top 40 under 40. For 2018 he was selected as Top Influential Chemist of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals and has been featured on many TV shows and newspapers such as Disney Jr.’s “Be Inspired”, ABC Visions, featured on the Tom Joyner Morning Show, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and The Philadelphia Daily News. In 2016 he was named Male Student of the Year by Historically Black Colleges and Universities and is a Carl Storm Fellow at the Gordon Research Conference in Barga, Italy.Dr. Hayes maintains membership with the American Chemical Society, Gamma Sigma Epsilon, National Organization of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers, and Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society.

Aside from his successful career, Dr. Hayes is a world renowned sought after speaker, lecturer, publisher of articles, peer reviewed journals, author of Thermodynamic and Kinetic Studies of Alkali Metal Doped-Lithium Amide-Magnesium Hydride Hydrogen Storage System and Growing Up GREAT: A Roadmap to Giving, Receiving, Expecting, Achieving, and Teaching, and holds a patent for alternative energy system for cars, powered by hydrogen.He has spoken on the panel at North Carolina Central School of Law first annual Intellectual Property Law Institute regarding intellectual property at universities and small businesses. 

Dr. Hayes impressively graduated high school at the age of 15 and college at the age of 18. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Lincoln University and graduated cum laude.He was the recipient of a Summer Research Internship for the NASA Undergraduate Research Center from Howard University and received his PhD in Applied Chemistry from Delaware State University, making him the youngest ever PhD recipient from Delaware State University.
