Dr. Diane V. Jones selected as Top Doctor of the Year for 2017 by the International Association of Top Professionals IAOTP.

Dr. Diane V. Jones of Inglewood & Districts Health Service has been selected as "Top Doctor of the Year" for 2017 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP), for her excellence in musculoskeletal, sport & family medicine. 

While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, longevity in the field, other affiliations and contributions to their communities.  All honorees are invited to attend the IAOTP’s annual award gala at the end of this year for a night to honor their achievements.

With over 37 years of professional experience in the healthcare industry, Dr. Jones has certainly proved herself as an accomplished professional and expert in the field. As a dynamic, results-driven leader, she has demonstrated success honing her expertise in musculoskeletal, family and sports medicine over the past four decades.  She is practicing in Inglewood, Taranaki, New Zealand, where she has established long-term relationships and trust with her many patients.

Aside from her many responsibilities with Inglewood & Districts Health Service, Dr. Jones just recently retired as a trustee of the Midlands Regional Health Care Charitable Trust, a primary health care organization seeking quality primary health care while tackling the sustainability issues of increasing costs and the decreasing workforce.

Dr. Jones states that she was always intrigued by the variety and philosophy of the health care profession and knew that she wanted a career in the medical field early on. In 1975, she received a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Otago and she went on to earn a Diploma in Obstetrics from The University of Auckland in 1978.  In 1991 she received a Diploma in Musculoskeletal Medicine from the University of Otago and a Fellowship of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners in 1999.  In 2000 Dr. Jones received a Graduate Diploma in Sports Medicine from The University of New South Wales.

Dr. Jones remains active in her community and has been recognized worldwide for her outstanding leadership and commitment to the profession. In 2014 she was chosen as Top Female Executive, selected as an Elite Worldwide Professional and Professional of the Year in Musculoskeletal, Sport & Family Medicine by Worldwide Branding. In 2015 she was the recipient for the Humanitarian Award, and has been featured on the front cover of  Pro-Files Magazine.  For the past few years she has had a chapter dedicated to her in the “Top 101 Industry Experts Publication” and for 2016 selected as “Top Doctor of the Year” by the International Association of Top Professionals.  Dr. Jones is a board member for Tui Ora Ltd, a Maori-based health organization  and she also is a volunteer divisional surgeon and appointed officer of The Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem, an international charity that provides first aid, health care and support to individuals in more than 40 countries.

Looking back, Dr. Jones attributes her success to her perseverance, strength and her passion for helping people. For the future, she will continue to grow as a professional and wants to continue to make a difference by improving patient care and saving people’s lives.
