3D virtual tours allow buyers an immersive home viewing experience

A new business called DFW360.com launched in February 2017. The company uses a reality capture system called Matterport to provide their real estate clients with an innovative add-on, making online tours three-dimensional and immersive.

Although the company is new, they have already found great success. Their clients include builders such as Shaddock Homes who use their service to showcase model homes, and reputable brokerage firms such as Keller Williams and RE/MAX who use it in their listings.

The technology is easy to use, yet powerful. First, houses are scanned. The process takes from 1-4 hours, depending on the size of the home. The scan generates a 3D model which is posted to virtual tours within 36 hours. The 3D model is automatically embedded in the DFW360.com virtual tour, so that it appears in all the same places that the tour does, including  NTREIS, Realtor.com, and agent and broker websites. In addition, the service provides a URL which allows clients to custom embed the 3D model directly into any site they want.

A variety of pricing options exists depending on the size of the home, starting at $159 for homes of 1000 square feet or less, up to $379 for homes between 7001-8000 square feet. For homes larger than 8000 square feet, customers can call to get individualized pricing information. For an additional $50, clients can purchase 25 pictures from the 3D virtual tour.
