Decentralized Internet Era, who is the pioneer

In 1960, Ted Nelson first consider about a method that can process text message through a computer, and named it hypertext, which became the base stone of the development of HTTP hypertext transfer protocol standard structure. In the past few decades, centralized storage, represented by the HTTP protocol, has become the keystone of the growing internet industry.

As Communication and Information Technology advanced, people started to seek for safer and more effective information storage solutions; whereas the fact that centralized storage has lower efficiency, more safety concerns, and depends heavily on the server contradict to today’s preference. The emerging new Internet based on decentralized storage has become the natural selection of the era.

In 2019, people in the field of Internet and Blockchain are familiar with decentralized storage represented by IPFS. Decentralized storage stores fragmented information in multiple servers and nodes, thus can lower the risk of large scale breakdowns when facing attack or other accident (compared with centralized storage). At the same time, information was breakdown and distributed, so that decentralized storage has higher efficiency to distribute, store and transmit information, in this way making data processing more efficient.

The core of decentralized storage is to cut data into pieces, encrypt the message, and distribute to multiple nodes. Decentralized storage avoids the failure of centralized storage that large breakdowns will occur when being attacked. In addition, due to the decentralized nodes, the files will be reorganized during the download process, parallel speed will be much faster than the centralized storage, meaning that data processing becomes more flexible. In other words, decentralized storage means faster speed and calculation, smoother webpage and more efficient downloads.

However, there are also problems in decentralized storage. For example, the FileCoin project based on IPFS need to prevent any possible fraudulent and mining defects, and the complexity of those techniques caused the project to be delayed to go online.

The recently released IPWeb has make many breakthroughs in technology. First, it separates storage and retrieve into two tier network, this not only improves the network efficiency, but also lowers the threshold of mining. Second, its redundancy technique can recover the whole file even if 30%-70% of the fragments are lost or the node is dead, which could be the solution of information lost, errors and omissions in the future. In the counterparty consensus, IPWeb designed a new proof algorithm contract, “counterparty certificates” – to contract with miner that the information returned directly to the miner after success retrieval, without having to retrieve a node frequently to ensure storing the correct file. The node gets the reward for the last retrieve only when the file can be successfully retrieved, this technique greatly enhanced the effectivity comparing to IPFS’s consensus mechanism.

Moreover, IPWeb announced a decentralized storage experience website. You can experience the attractiveness of decentralized storage on your own from IPWeb’s official website. It implemented the HASH algorism. IPWeb provides high efficient storage service base on multi-chain and multi-consensus, combined with provable storage certification and Token economy, to achieve high efficient node management.

IPWeb first proposed the concept of decentralized internet ecosystem. IPWeb developed a distributed internet protocol based on distributed storage (ipweb://), which inevitably will cause huge changes in the industry, even likely to reshape the internet ecosystem, moving to the distributed internet era.
