Coralie Kenny selected as Top Attorney of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP).

Coralie Kenny, Junior Vice President of the Law Society of New South Wales and Director of the Public Interest Advocacy Centre Ltd, the New South Wales Law & Justice Foundation and LegalSuper Pty Ltd, the trustee of the legal industry superannuation fund, was selected as Top Attorney of the Year for 2017 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP). 

While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, longevity in the field, other affiliations and contributions to their communities.  All honorees are invited to attend the IAOTP’s annual award gala at the end of this year for a night to honor their achievements.

With over 3 decades of professional experience in the Legal industry, Coralie has certainly proven herself as an accomplished professional and expert in the field. As a dynamic, results-driven leader, she has demonstrated success  as a senior in-house lawyer for major Australian Financial Organizations in wealth management including; Colonial, Mercer, Tower Life, FuturePlus, ING Australia, ClearView Wealth, Suncorp and BNP Paribas Securities Services Australasia where she was General Counsel. 

With her diverse background and experience, Coralie has been able to work with many areas of commercial law especially Equity Law, Trusts and Fiduciary Obligations.  Her key responsibilities have focused on Board and Committee roles, governance, risk management and compliance requirements for APRA/ASIC regulated entities including life insurance, superannuation, registered managed investment schemes, financial advice and securities services.

Coralie received her LLB and a BEconomics from Monash University and her Master’s Degree in Applied Law (In-house Practice) through the College of Law.  In 2010 she received her GAIDC from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Coralie remains active in her community and has been recognized worldwide for her outstanding leadership and commitment to the profession. In 2013 she was presented with the NSW Champion of Justice Cup by PILCH.  In 2014 she was named Top Professional of the Year in Legal Services by Worldwide Branding, and for 2017 named Top Attorney of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals.  She is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, The Law Society of New South Wales, the Women Lawyers Association of NSW, the Association of Corporate Counsel and the Law Council of Australia.  For 2019 she will be promoted to President of the Law Society of NSW. 

Looking back, Coralie attributes her success to her training, her perseverance, mentors she has had along the way, and her passion for the law. For the future, she will continue to grow as a professional and wants to give back to the community any way she can.
