Coddies completes Indian rickshaw race well ahead of schedule

Coddies, the brand behind the viral 'Coddies Fish FlopsTM' footwear, has completed its Coddies Rickshaw Challenge after a 13-day, 1,500 mile-long rickshaw race across India.

'Coddies on the Road’ saw a fleet of 80 rickshaws participate in an epic Indian adventure from Jaisalmer in the north of India to Bangalore in the south. 

Journeying through some of the country’s most colourful and awe-inspiring countryside, two Coddies teams of three representing countries from across Europe embarked on the journey in rickshaws designed like Coddies Fish FlopsTM.

“The expedition was the most incredible thing we’ve done; the people of India are so kind and the scenery is amazing. Everyone loved our Coddies and Rickshaw design to go alongside them, they certainly brought a smile to people’s faces,” said Team leader Guillaume De Bruycker. 

Despite the continued rickshaw engine failures, the team carried on and resorted to towing one of the vehicles for the last leg of the journey. 

“We are so proud of the team for their perseverance and positive attitude, it wasn’t an easy challenge they took on but they managed to keep up spirits and finish a day earlier than was hoped,” commented Coddies Founder Jack Bennet.

The expedition teams are now on their way back to Europe and are looking forward to a well-earned rest.
