Carolyn Verde, President & CEO of Platinum Specialty Group & Director of Captive One has been named  “Top CEO of the Year in Healthcare for 2016” by the International Association of Top Professionals. While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, longevity in the field, other affiliations and contributions to their communities.  All honorees will be invited to attend the IAOTP’s annual award gala at the end of this year for a night to honor their achievements.

With over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Carolyn has certainly proved herself in the industry as an accomplished professional who has been a business leader at a number of prominent companies in the insurance and healthcare business.  Ms. Verde's expertise is in program and product development and strategic growth initiatives. She has held roles with responsibility for the oversight of national healthcare risk transfer entities serving physicians & surgeons, hospitals, dental, and allied health professions liability coverages as well as general liability, BOP, and workers compensation coverages.   Her typical day is overseeing all operations of the business.

Before becoming President and CEO for Platinum Specialty Group and Director at Captive One, she has served as President and CEO for Uni-Ter, Executive Vice President for Hays Companies, Sr Vice President-Healthcare Professional Liability Business Leader for Marsh, President-Healthcare Professional Liability Division for Arrowhead General Insurance Agency and Director of Sales for Aon.  She was named Professional of the Year in 2013 by Who's Who and serves on the Leadership Board and Development Committee of Primary Care Development Corp.

Looking back, Carolyn attributes her success to her longevity in the field, the numerous roles she has played, her internal drive and ambition, as well as her passion for helping improve the industry.  She has progressed naturally in her career and aspires to grow her business and herself as a professional.
