CAN Community Health Supports National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

CAN Community Health, celebrating its 26th year serving the needs of the HIV/AIDS community in Florida, is hosting an outdoor event to commemorate the 18th annual National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. The family-friendly event will be Saturday, February 10 from 12:00pm to 4:00pm at Fredd Atkins Park on the corner of U.S. 301 and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Way at 2581 Washington Court, Sarasota 34234.

This free event is open to the general public and CAN will be providing free food and drinks, entertainment and giveaways. There will be a live DJ as well as face-painting and a bounce house for the kids. 

CAN Community Health will provide free, rapid HIV/AIDS testing on-site. The CAN team will be on hand to support the day’s primary goal of motivating the community to get educated about the transmission modes of HIV/AIDS, to get tested and to seek the necessary treatment. All CAN locations offer free HIV testing, care and treatment as well as education and prevention services.
