Brooklyn Property Maintenance Service Builds Sustainability Into Their Business Model

Domestic Personal Helpers (or DPH as their customers know them) is a proud Brooklyn based Property Maintenance Service that was founded 5 years ago by Anthony J. Finkel, a Brooklyn-born entrepreneur with a knack for spotting opportunities that help not just his bottom line but also his community.

Anthony, and in turn DPH, offers a variety of professional, reliable and friendly maintenance services to both residential and commercial clients throughout New York. As Anthony was busy growing his business, he quickly realized that many of his company’s clients were using his service as a means to dispose of older technology, such as laptops, desktop computers, printers, TVs, AC units and more. Rather than simply shuttling these items off to be recycled, he seized the opportunity as a means to leverage his entrepreneurial drive into an actionable plan to help reduce Brooklyn’s carbon footprint, while building sustainability and environmental stewardship into his business model.

In 2016, DPH began running an ‘End of Summer Electronics Roundup’ campaign to help address this challenge. Having partnered with a certified non-profit organization, DPH now helps small businesses and residential clients alike to properly recycle their old tech. Hard drives are securely wiped, freon is drained and properly disposed of, and parts that can be refurbished are and are then donated to charity.
