BOSTON, MA - 12/14/2017 (PRESS RELEASE JET)

The Brain Aneurysm Foundation has earned the Platinum GuideStar nonprofit profile Seal of Transparency, the highest level of recognition offered by GuideStar, the world’s largest source of information about nonprofits.

By sharing information and metrics that highlight the progress the Brain Aneurysm Foundation is making toward its mission, the foundation is helping donors move beyond simplistic ways of nonprofit evaluation such as overhead ratios to more meaningful metrics.

“We have a longtime commitment to being transparent abou tour work, and are excited to convey our organization’s results in a user-friendly and highly visible way,” said Brain Aneurysm Foundation Executive Director Christine Buckley. “By updating our GuideStar nonprofit profile to the Platinum level, we can now easily share a wealth of up-to-date organizational metrics with our supporters as well as GuideStar’s immense online audience.”

To reach Platinum level, the Brain Aneurysm Foundation added extensive information to its profile on GuideStar. This included organizational information; in-depth financial information; qualitative information about goals, strategies, and capabilities; and quantitative information about results and progress toward its mission. By providing this information, the Brain Aneurysm Foundation is demonstrating its commitment to transparency and to giving existing and potential donors meaningful data with which to evaluate the foundation.

“We take pride in the work we do on behalf of all those affected by brain aneurysms, and are eager to share our accomplishments and progress with as many people as possible in the most transparent, accessible way,” said Ms. Buckley. “We believe that the more people who know about our mission and how we allocate our resources, the better.” For example, the Brain Aneurysm Foundation’s Platinum profile includes metrics from 2014-2017 such as the number of new and retained donors, the number of unique and return website visitors, and the amount of grants it has awarded to research scientists from funds raised exclusively from private donors.

“I encourage you to visit our profile on GuideStar to see what we’re all about,” said Ms. Buckley. “We’re pleased that our GuideStar Platinum nonprofit profile will help us better communicate our organization’s exciting initiatives to a global audience.”
