NEW YORK, NY - 09/27/2016 (PRESS RELEASE JET)

Brooklyn based filmmaker and a screenwriting/film student in his final year, Bobby Ashley has a lot to be excited about.  Ashley’s drama The Ave wrapped its first Season and his production company Joe Entertainment is getting ready to commence filming on season two.  The Ave season one was added to this year’s Ocktober Film Festival's Official Selection.  The Ave delivers an insight into the lives of dynamic characters that are raw, real and resonate with its core audience.

The Ave centers on Nate Brooks, an ambitious check fraudulent business owner, husband and devoted father who thought he had everything under control while running his scamming business along with his partners Keith, Quan and older sister Rolanda. Unfortunately, after finding his best friend brutally murdered, beefing with ED (the Puerto Rican Cartels) and ending his affair with Stacey, he is now under threat and the only way Nate can survive is by questioning his own loyalty. Eventually in the end someone will pay the price.

The series stars Brett Puryear, Shaniqua J West, Kimberly Medina Courts, Zae Diggs, Steven "Check" Fernandez, Randie Graves, Krystal Garner, Marcellous Lewter and Guyviaud Joseph.

Ashley describes his series as "HBO's The Wire meets Brownsville, Brooklyn modern day…I'll be digging deep with these characters, throughout the course of each season, and revealing layers behind the mask.”

Bobby Ashley was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He received accolades and a Los Angeles premiere during Golden Globes week in 2013 for his HIV-AIDS awareness drama Positive and won the Best Short Award/TV Category for his pilot Repercussions in 2014. Bobby graduates Summer 2017 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in screenwriting from Brooklyn College.

The Ave series has been featured on AllHipHop, WorldStarHipHop WBKE Vegas Radio and recognized by industry professionals from "Tyler Perry's If Loving You Is Wrong".  Season one is currently streaming on Amazon, Verizon FIOS on Demand, FUBU APP and YouTube.com/JETV.  Follow the series on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
