At one time, the company had over 5,000 products online, however it became apparent that such a large selection can be overwhelming to a customer trying to find the right promotional products. Category managers were given the task to go through their categories and weed out the products that were not considered at the top of their class.  During this process, if a manager found a gap in the selection, new items were added. While the company does continue to offer a variety of lower priced products in each category, the managers were instructed to pick the best in class. This means that if picking pens under $1 then find the best pens under $1.
